If Taggart was able to play, the argument would be even better. MY CONJECTURE would be that we have better team than Sydney, Adelaide.
But perhaps maybe even WSW , Brisbane, Victory ? thoughts .. No, we depend too much on Castro. However we certainly have the good form at the right time. If the good form continues and the indifferent form of some of the teams ahead of us continues then we look a very good chance to make it I don't know who has the toughest draw out of Adelaide, Sydney and the 2 Melbournes - but I think one of them is going to falter - and if we can do Sydney on their patch this weekend then they will be looking very shaky. We did beat Wellington without Castro (well he came on for a cameo). Not exactly the yardstick at the moment, but I think the boys are getting back to where they were last year (i.e. able to guts out the wins).

Next 5 games for the top 6 and Glory: WSW 34 - WEL, SFC, PER, BRI, NEW BRI 34 - NEW, PER, ADL, WSW, MV MCY 28 - MV, CCM, WEL, SFC, ADL MV 28 - MCY, ADL, SFC, CCM, BRI SFC 28 - PER, WSW, MV, MCY, WEL ADL 27 - CCM, MV, BRI, WEL, MCY PER 22 - SFC, BRI, WSW, NEW, CCM Both Sydney and Adelaide have some tricky fixtures. If Glory can get over Sydney this WE and jag a point or two against Brisbane and WSW then Glory might be neck and neck after round 23.

Happy to be proven wrong by our squad though.

When he came on there was an instant spark to the forward third with more happening and holes appearing. He draws two-three players and space opens up for other players. Fortunately he is good enough to pass the ball or ski around them thus cutting those defenders out. I've said before, he MUST be signed for next season. If not, I see the signing of Keogh and Taggart to be nothing more than toothless tigers.

I didn't say it was pretty or that we were better without him, but we did manage to win without him. He still needs a bit more support in the midfield ... hopefully Sandor and the new Hungarian player can create some combinations to provide that assistance. Defensively it looks like we have secured things back there better, now the trouble is getting it to Keogh and Castro without resorting to a long ball.

Was actually surprised to see us hang on to a win like that. Not sure why, maybe I'm getting a little too excited but it seemed a diff Glory against Wellington. Could be the new guy. shrug, hopefully it is. Back 4 gotta agree and the bench .. a little depth needed there before matching Victory . Probably more experience needed than depth .. Warren WIlliams.. crikey actually there's a lot

That's 14 (now 19) more points for 33 (now 38) come end of the regular season.
Could just about fall over the line into the finals. [-o< I thought we'd be good to catch Adelaide, but SFC might just fall out of the top 6 for Glory to take their place. Edited by hotrod: 13/2/2016 07:17:38 PM

Quote:http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/2016/02/15/socceroos-defender-williams-open-homecoming-kick-start-careerSocceroos defender Williams open to homecoming to kick-start careerEXCLUSIVE: Fit-again Socceroos defender Rhys Williams has sparked a scramble between A-League clubs after revealing his willingness to return to Australia to rekindle his career. By David Lewis 15 Feb 2016 - 7:08 PM UPDATED YESTERDAY 7:08 PM " Sometimes you need to start again and it might be a good option. If somebody wanted to take me there and it would be good for my future and my family, I’d definitely look at it," Williams said.“The league is growing and going there is something I've been discussing with my agent. We've had a few chats with different people and the thought appeals to me. “ Being at home in the nice environment and playing for a manager who believes in me could be the best way to move forward again.“Sometimes in life, you have to take a different route to go where you ultimately want to go - and if I were to go back to Australia and be a big part of a team there, then why not?” “Come the (northern) summer I would be able to head back home, so if anybody is interested they should give me a call!” Wow, who would've thought?! But given his record with injuries, makes sense? He's from Perth and his younger brother Aryn is in the squad. But moreso in Glory's favour could be the squad and cap room for him - Vadocz is only an IRP till end of season, in a position that Williams could fill with quality we haven't yet seen at Glory? His Socceroos prospects could recover with an extended run too. Fellow ECU Joondalup grad Shane Lowry is here aswell as his younger brother - if there is a chance, then why can't Glory make this happen?! :-k Edited by GloryPerth: 16/2/2016 02:11:25 AM

He's a very good player who was quite fit, fast and athletic but has copped serious injuries over the years which has slowed him down. Getting him out of that winter cold into some Oz sunlight and heat would be good for his body for a start. Get the physio and medical team to run a fine comb over him and get him on a plan of light duties over the rest of the season and offseason to get his body right to work him up to pre-season.

Could he play straight away .. Rhys that is. How much can you check before you actually sign him on I'm actually bloody surprised just how many WA products are playing in the UK. Quite special really having the option of all these boys coming back to play for Perth. Really boosts the club.. some of these Eastern states clubs would kill for the home grown talent pool we have available abroad. tis good

What are people's thoughts on Kosta Petratos??
I have only seen a little of him, and he looked very unsure on the ball (turned it over easily). Work in progress?

Seemed a bit odd he was brought on at that stage of the game. With Garcia on the bench, that is one of the more suitable situations for Kenny to put him on the pitch.
[Although my last coaching move was to sack Harold after 99 games, 'cause I thought he should be an awful lot better than he is with that number of games under his belt].

I prefer to think he has turned over a new leaf and is giving youth a try, rather than playing someone who is likely to leave come season end... but perhaps I am a bit too optimistic!
