It would show how inept a CEO Kelly is and how idiotic an owner Sage is. Stick with Fergie at least until results no longer go his way. Make Normanton an assistant. Otherwise you'd be throwing him in the deep end, no matter how he ruled the shallows for a while, the difference is still great. ROFL - Fergie = Decent A league coach???

What's our best 11 coming into the finals series?
Feel free to post both ideal teams and what you actually think Fergie will pick.

I think Fergie will start. -------------Vukovic------------ Risdon--VDB--Mitchell--Heffernan Dodd---Burns---Miller--Andrezinho ----------McGarry---------------- ----------Smeltz----------------- Subs: Young Neville Pantaledis Mehmet Personally, I'd go for. ------------Vukovic------------- Risdon--VDB-----Mitchell--Neville ---------Miller---Burns---------- Dodd------McGarry--------Andrezinho -----------Smeltz----------------- Subs: Young Panta O'Neill/Makarounas (Undecided) Mehmet

Almost sure it will be. -------------Vukovic------------ Risdon--VDB--Pantaledis--Heffernan Dodd---Miller--Burns---Andrezinho ----------McGarry---------------- ----------Smeltz----------------- Subs: Young Neville Howarth Mehmet
Unlucky for O'neill and Makarounas but if either of Miller or Burns need to come off, Mcgarry will probably slot back and Mehmet will come on. Or Alternatively, Panta will go into the middle and Neville will come on. We'll definitely need a wide man which is why I have Howarth in there, no way can Andrezinho run it out. He also gives us an option at LB. God I wish they'd expand the bench.
Also, any idea on ticket sales?

I think today showed that we need more pace , players who can thread it through to smeltz or mehmet We have dodd and Andrenzhino but they mostly just rely on a cross or long ball.
Also a bit worried that both smeltz and mehmet are to similar.
Although its nice what fergies done i hope he can actually establish a good attractive brand of football as with the way we play i think it has the potential to be good 1 season and crap the next its to dependant on personal form rather then the team as a whole.

Well we've heard there will be some cost cutting and surely some of it long time coming - Some youth for old including at the back. Not that we need to lose all the quality vets, but hopefully another Risdon or two and we already see, if I have this right, Heffernan leaving, with the expensive 'flop' Sterj and some others already gone. This season aside, Glory have 'overspent' squad wise for little return but it's clear they may see just as much return by backing more West Aussies, young or otherwise. And then Glory will have more pace, energy, enthusiasm and 'local passion.' Though in saying that, this year the squad pulled through from the toughest of times. Fergie deserves credit for that too, including giving a wake up call to some of those vets. Anyway, what I'm getting at is, even with the success we see the squad is a bit heavy in some areas equating to some expensive players who are equalling impact subs at most, worst long time NYL (And/or long term injury list). I think during the success Fergie will have seen where the squad needs strengthening, where it doesn't and where it can be trimmed. And that will come with this new approach from Glory's board (Who's past, 'we need to spend big on imports, from over east, aswell as overseas, for instant success' approach was a large part of that short term cycle/turnover problem). BTW Interesting, insightful and encouraging/puts smile on my face interview from Tony Sage: http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/video/2225351685/EXCLUSIVE:-Tony-Sage#Edited by gloryperth: 22/4/2012 10:27:49 PM

Commiserations Glory. TBH After Heff got sent off I didn't think it would happen this season, but the way it was done definitely makes me wonder.

Im confident Sage will stay now hes defently a football person hes got passion in the club he'll only leave if FFA dont change anything he also seems very confident with this new comittee Edited by glory recruit: 22/4/2012 11:04:42 PMEdited by glory recruit: 22/4/2012 11:07:42 PM

you guys should be proud of how your club has dealt with the anger, disappointment, frustration and agony it must be feeling... burns/fergie and co have made it clear how hideous they reckon the decision was but they have still conducted themselves with class
the mind boggles as to what would have happened if it had been central coas on the end of the decision....the whinging and whining that would have come out of that baboon arnold's mouth would have been sickening

Thanks Redshirtwilly, but as I suggested after the semi-final win, Glory as winners just to make it there - especially considering where they came from middle of season. Also, as Sage himself said too - Glory are likely in for an ACL spot and Sage always said that was amongst the highest priorities in his ambitions for Glory as much as winning the A-League.
BTW Sage really seems like he has his head screwed on straight, a nice enough bloke too. It's quite refreshing and you can see he may be a different kettle of fish from the 'seemingly' bull headed, big personality, out there, characters that Tinkler and especially Palmer seem to be. He does seem a football fan too and just seems like the kind of guy that most of us could get along with. Which makes it all the worse the abuse he and his daughter suffered - So you can understand, a slightly more sensitive aswell as passionate guy like Sage is, getting a bit worked up/'fed up' in the aftermath of that.
Makes you wonder too - I don't know that much at all about him, let alone his family, so makes you wonder what sort of creeps were e-mailing him and abusing his 13 year old daughter! Bunch of fn losers and sounds restraining order worthy!
And I tell you what too - Sage seems a nice guy, but if it were a few of us in his position, I think those clowns would be in trouble, it's hard for many of us to suffer such creeps lightly!

I did update the glory 1s though with a description i think we can call Roar and Wello rivals now:P? First time ever as a glory supporter im actually looking forward to certain matches next season. I didnt want to do this in the initial aftermath due to emotions and what not but here goes.
Id like to first say well done to the Perth fans. To have travelled that far and is that big a number is a credit to the fans and the club. Sage organised a chartered plane, which not many owners would do and i commend you all for that
On the game. Perth were always underdogs and the fact that Perth never gave in and were resolute in their plan was a testament to the coach and the team. Jacob Burns (regardless of what i or many think of his tackles at times) is a strong leader and he led his team very well. He was a deserving Joe Marston medal winner.
It was unfortunate for the way the game ended and no one wants to see a title decided under controversy and drama of a bad nature, but such is football. I know if it were my team i would be fuming and saying soft and so on and so forth, but never fear. Perth have a good strong squad and ive no doubt next season they can build on this year.
