To be fair, we use acronyms like laser, radar, taser, etc. all the time in speech.

However, people who say lol or rofl or ily in conversation do my head in as well. If it's funny, fucking laugh. If it's not, don't. "lol" just makes me want to punch you in the face. and saying "ily" is just fucking stupid. Phoenetically speaking, "ily" makes me think of cofeee.

So I often have no idea what they're on about.

Lack of respect in general for Vets today has been duely noted. Lads will be belted.

Unfortuantly too many people use today as an excuse to get pissed.

One of the downside's of having a drinking culture in this country.

WGMG: I have this book, 1001 songs You Must Hear Before You Die. It's good, but it has songs like My People by the Presets and We Are Your Friends by Justice vs Simain, absolutely awful songs which I cannot imagine anyone thinking are fantastic songs and deserve a place on a list like that. And then there's no mention of Glycerin by Bush and Would by Alice in Chains, too amazing songs.

Those sorts of things are all opinionated - the songs that go in those lists are at the discretion of the author. We're all going to have a differant idea of what should be in those sorts of lists.

That's why summer BBQs are awesome. Getting drunk with mates whilst arguing over shit like that :)

Its a huge collaborative effort, you'd think 17 people would vote not to include it. And the other stupid thing is they include one song per album. So an awesome album like Whats the Story (Morning Glory) by Oasis only has one song on the list. And because the authors decided that Champagne Supernova was the best song on that album, there is no room for Wonderwall.

Having this very argument with my mother right as i'm typing this. She's getting very upset and 5 minutes ago used the term "I'm ashamed as an English citizen to have raised you. I thought you would have been proud the wedding" all cause i claimed I, and most likely the majority of the country really don't give a fuck.

She's actually very upset at me over this. Sure, I'm proud of my English heritage, but i seriously couldn't give a fuck. It's 2 people getting married. Whoop-tie-do. Get that rock on her finger, take her somewhere exotic, bang the fuck out of her (cause i daresay it's not allowed in Buckingham Palace) and get on with it!.
