imnofreak wrote::lol: Of course it's still the shire. You're still in the shire till you go over the Alfords Pt Bridge imo. In my opinion your still in the shire when your in Helensburgh, Otford or even Stanwell Park (though a lot people who live there would probably fiercely protest) due to most people in these areas going to schools and later a lot of them being employed within the shire. It's alright man, I understand. I moved to Sutherland about a year ago. I know what the people around here are mostly like. It's so true. People at my school are saying they never intend to leave the Shire. Lol wut, I can't wait to get out. I don't intend to leave the Shire if I don't have to but I live in partial isolation to the isolation induced Shire patriotism living at Waterfall. I wouldn't live north of Engadine though in the shire. I know people that before they left school had never been south of Bulli or North of Sydney harbour and those extremes were because of school excursions. It's not too bad for me too though admittedly. I'm on the complete other side, in Illawong, which is very close to the Bankstown Shire. Some people don't think Menai, Illawong, Alfords Point and Bangor should be counted as part of the Shire because we're over the other side of the Woronora bridge. Fine by me  But the Bankstown shire doesn't want us either, so we're kind of stuck in the middle... I've been told by some "shire elitists" from around the Gymea, Kirawee area that they don't regard anything west of the Woronora river or South of Sutherland as the Shire, as south of Sutherland's too far away.

This reminds me of the old "60% of americans have never seen the ocean". That's just fucking sad. Why would you not want to get out and see all the world has to offer? Cretins.

Step over the bridge little blind one and see that there are things greater than you have ever imagined over there... Like people who speak to you without dropping which suburb they live in into every conversation... unless you meet somebody from the northern beaches which is like de ja vu. I know plenty of people from the Shire: my grandfather was born in a boat shed on the Georges River in Como in '31 - how much more Shire can you get? I also know quite a few great guys from the Shire, but it's the girls that shit me. Straight out of school, Georges River High was the centre of the world and their little leather jacket will keep them safe in the Big Bad Gong. Seriously, Wollongong SHITS all over Sutherland: more multicultural, cultured, industrious, beautiful and not-wog-bashing than the Shire could ever hope to be.

He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.
