What a sad state of affairs when we value the life of a stupid human over one of the earth's most impressive species.
I'm not an animal scientist but something tells me that if a gorilla of that size wanted to kill the boy, he'd have done so.
Natural selection people. This sickens me as much as killing two lions because some arsehole wanted to commit suicide.
Let nature take it's course, fuck humans. Natural selection? The kid was 4. I'd agree with you if it was the parent who fell into the enclosure but the 4 year old didn't deserve to die/be seriously injured because his mother failed to appropriately care for him. I have a massive problem with shooting an endangered gorilla to save a human child. Why is a human life more important than a gorillas?I don't know how kid got through the fence. I also think the parents should have to pay to import a replacement gorilla (or 20) to the zoo. Their shithouse parenting resulted in the death of the gorilla which was totally avoidable. Interesting question. Can I just ask, are you equally bothered by animals being killed daily for meat, clothing, product testing etc or do you draw the line at endangered species and primates?

Let's face it guys, based on all evidence, this kid is unlikely to end up being much of a high flier

Yeah Probably won't be able to do much more than eat bananas, grow muscles and hair, then fight anyone that looks at his mate May also only speak in grunts, but might be able to use a toilet and pay taxes. Edited by View from the fence: 31/5/2016 05:15:43 PM

If it was a chimp enclosure then opening fire is completely justified as those c*nts are fucked. However gorillas don't eat meat but can be very territorial and protective so a situation such as the Cincinnati one would end up in tears regardless of whatever outcome (The idiotic screaming by people would have just irritated the animal and hyped up the pin-dick with the gun) *also there have been situations where gorillas have not harmed fallen children but I can't remember if they were silverbacks or not Edited by marconi101: 31/5/2016 05:14:18 PM
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

I still don't see what in the gorillas actions were aggressive. It's a shame there's no way to find out I guess but I'd be willing to bet the stupid kid wouldn't have come to any harm besides some cuts and bruises from being carried away from the morons above like any young gorilla would be dragged.

What I find most amusing about the whole situation is everyone is always carrying on about 'Oh, think of the children'. Cincinnati Zoo thinks of the children, and now everybody is up in arms crying 'Oh, think of the Gorilla'.

Or from Dostoyevsky's perspective: People should be pushed into economic hardship to not be able to afford to go to the zoo in the first place...

Do you have kids? So that's a no then? The answer is no which you will use to justify that i have no idea how hard it is to look after children which is false. The other option is the compassionate argument where "you never really know until you're a parent" which is irrelevant.
