Parents must be terrible these days if the act of covering your mouth is not ingrained in you......

6 months of warmth and blue sky in Europe and the inevitable grey and cold has come so quickly. Might be a tough winter this one. I get winter blues but not every year. Hope to dodge it.

I'm the kind of guy who'd rather go down in a blaze of glory than fade out slow, but each to their own.

+x+x+x^ Curious- why do you assume you could never date her? I am rather defeatist when it comes to relationships. Why don't you ask her and find out? Long story short: Met her when living interstate in 2014, hit it off, she had a BF so I didn't escalate. Moved back to Newy in 2015 for uni, kept a bit of contact over the years but nothing for ages. I'm moving back interstate in two weeks, she's the only person I know in the new city, can't just hit her up after ages with no contact to meet-up. Every semester break I'd spend a few weeks there and last time I did I msged her, to predictably no response (she's a 10 in my book, so she'd be inundated with messages). I'll just have to trust the Gods and hope we cross paths. I'm in the best shape of my life and I'm charming af so I know I'll be good but I don't want to be either creepy or blow my chance. Thankfully it's a smallish area I'm moving to.

It's amazing which people I've run into again over the years (not for relationships) and you'd thought you'd never see them again. To increase your chances, obviously get out of the house. If you know a bit about what she gets up to or where she likes to hang out you can go out there. I don't mean it in the creepy stalker way or betting your whole night on running into her, but it's a good starting point. I'm sure this is all obvious as hell but hopefully there's some lift to that defeatist attitude you mentioned.

Thankfully it's a smallish area I'm moving to. Have a crack mate. No point dying wondering. By your own admission you're hoping for a fluke crossed path which, let's be honest, may not happen. Just hit her up and tell her you're moving back into town and wondering if she wanted to catch up for a coffee so you can get the good oil on the city. (You're asking her out without asking her out if you know what I mean. People generally want to help others too.) And if she says 'yes' you're away. If she's says 'no', draw a line through that name and move on.

Step 1: Ask this girl out for coffee to give you the run-down on your new town and catch up Step 2: Presuming she says yes (and once you're sitting there with her and past the small-talk), regale her with stories of your housemate and your gym experiences like you share here If she find these stories hilarious, you're in!

WRGMG: Tim Winton's prose- he has the ability to vividly describe scenes that make it feel as if you're there- yet his novels almost always focus on fictional coastal towns in W.A. I'd love to see him write about an environment more familiar to me, and it frustrates me that I am (yet) unable to write in the same manner about my life or my world.

Riding a bike since it is my only mode of transport is horrible in winter. Might as well just by some skis for when the snow starts

WGMG: Having second thoughts about choosing to study IT next year, all my IRL mates kicked me to the curb and ghosted me when I was doing really shit mentally and had some outbursts (this happened in March and none of them have said a word to me since. Fairweather much?) and I'm pretty much a full on insomniac now, hence the 1:36am post.

My dogs AND my neighbours.
My dogs are a bit shitty. Love them to death, but they either spend all day barking outside (apparently), or if they get left inside by my wife since she is worried neighbours will bait them, they pee and crap all over the house. And we aren’t home enough to toilet train them inside, as when we were in our old rented house that had a bigger backyard (and neighbours that weren’t so pissy about dogs barking during the day when no one anywhere is home or sleeping), they actually went outside. I mean, they do go outside, but, as I said, neighbours. Tried those citronella collars but a they sorta got used to barking and having them spray them in the face, and b) my wife and I found them a bit cruel after a while when we saw them go off while they were trying to eat when we got home once.
I personally think fuck the neighbours, since you know, the dogs across the complex from us barks at 6 in the morning and at everything as well. I mean I don’t care, but I hope they’re getting the abusive anonymous notes in their mailbox like we are. But you know, my wife gets worried, and then it’s in a continuous cycle.
Is it worth me setting up a small camera that picks up sound AND looks into the yard to monitor a) how much they really do bark, and b) if anyone does throw something over the fence?
