I don't think you understand how the Mersey derby works. Many families have supporters of both Everton and Liverpool. My grandfather supported Liverpool, but one of his Brothers was an Everton fan. It's known as "the friendly derby" for a reason. It's people with idiot opinions like yours that every derby needs to be an epic 'clash of the titans' with violence and crap like that which causes problems. We don't need to be wanting to kill each other for it to be a derby or for us to want to win any less.

As a staunch Liverpool supporter, I can 100% say that I'll be supporting Everton against Heart on Wednesday.

That said, as a Liverpool fan, I wouldn't buy an Everton scarf.

WAGMG: The media BS surrounding Spains tournament that is proclaiming it a victory for the beautiful game, I don't know what team they were watching but I found most of Spains games pretty dull. The quality of the Spanish midfield and their ability to hold possession creates the illusion of playing a lot better football than they actually produced. Saying that their football was more enjoyable than Germany's is an outrage, sure Spain dominated possession but they did nothing with it whereas the German counter attack was slick and enjoyable

They may have Everton fans in their immediate family and hence have a soft spot for them and either a) already own the scarf, or b) don't have a problem with buying the scarf because they'll give it to their brother or whatever later. Neither of us would buy the scarf, but both of us would support Everton in this game, others would buy the scarf. It's a pretty simple concept to grasp, why do you not get it?

As I said, you don't know the circumstance surrounding the event. And the Mersey rivalry is completely different to any other rivalry in england.

Despite the fact taht for 116 minutes it clearly wasn't the superior football. I agree 100% with everything you've said. Spain struggled to defeat Honduras FFS. How is that 'beautiful'? Germany's football was a delight to watch. Me and my mates had nothing but effusive praise while watching their games. While Spain were boring to watch, their strikers were poor, their link between the midfield and attack was mediocre and their fullbacks were just rubbish. Puyol was too slow to read the play and if Muller had played against them, they'd have been beaten. Alas it was not to be and now we face four years of listening to this wank.
