:lol: Sucks to be you running glasses full time. I've worked behind a bar before, but never running glasses for 5 hours solid.

I was carrying a stack of pint glasses, this chick came charging out of the smoke area, gives me the 'don't argue' right in the middle of the chest and pushes me aside and I'm standing there going "what the fuck just happened?"

:evil: By 2:30am most Saturday nights I'm picking up half-full schooners of beer from tables. Anybody complaines about me taking their beer, I tell them to deal with the bouncers. By then all I want to do is go home, shower and fall into bed, anybody wants to fuck with me, they can deal with 6 foot somthing tongan bouncers who don't mind punching out some half-drunk fuckwit.

I just remember where the glasses are around the room, if they don't move for 10 minutes, I pick them up. Even if someone's going back to it, they're not going to finish a drink that they've left unattended in a nightclub for 10 minutes. I didn't even start until 2:30 :lol:

Pretty standard in most places. If something's been there for 10-15 you pick it up; pour it out. If someone argues with you, you tell them it's pub rules - OH/S in the intrest of the patrons/watching out for drink spiking etc. Most will then fall back, say, ah, ok fairs fair and what not but some people are right old cunts about it. That's when I normally call the muscle over and let them deal with it. I get paid to pick up, and wash glasses, not to deal with drunken cunts.

What RGMG though is when a beer has gone flat, and is warm, yet people don't want you to take it, they claim their still drinking it, yet they haven't touched it in ages. Fuck they shit me to tears, and those people who snatch their drinks and hold them, then glare at you as you walk by, daring you to pick up their glass. Fuck off. We're here to pick up glasses so when you want a drink, there'll be a glass for you to be served. If we dont have the glasses, you can't be served. Cunts. urgh.

At this club, they'll pop you in the face before you've even told them to talk about it with security. You've got to be diplomatic. I've been punched by security guards from another establishment for asking a guy if he could take his drink off the fucking pool table - WHILE I WAS TAKING A FUCKING SHOT NO LESS!

You have to have a very fucking high level of patience for a job like that. You also need to be able to take a high level of abuse, and not resort to belting a "FUCK YOU, YOU MISERABLE OLD CUNT" back down the phone when people insult you, for doing a job and ringing them at 6pm in the evening when they're sitting down for Dinner. I also don't think you're Indian enough, and are you willing to work in a stingy, cramped smelly office, somewhere in Delhi?

Sounds fucked. The pub I work at is decent though, security are actually nice, unless you want to start shit. Shame Singleton's replacing everybody.

Well the rumour that's gone round is that basically the Bar/Floor staff should be fine. That's what my manager has told us all anyway, so I'm inclined to believe him. I can't see why they'd can EVERYBODY. They've already canned the Licensee, and a couple of managers, as far as I'm aware all the managers are probably going to get canned, the security company is being changed, right down to the cleaning staff.

I - and the rest of the floor staff should be OK, but it's the not knowing and being kept in the dark about everything that's pissing people off. We want to know whether we have a job or not, if not we can go about making plans to get a new one somewhere else.

Mums are the worst for this. I guarantee when it comes to your first one, she'll be suggesting all these people you can go with and will then be a bit disappointed at first if you take someone else. Especially if she's never met or heard of the guy.

They did well, started strong, and ended well. Sharks had about a 10 minute surge after the half, putting on some points, but then died towards the end. They're looking alot better than they were last year tbf. Shame Nightingale couldn't score in his 100th game. I think that's the first time I've ever heard a girl whinge about paying for a dress they're only going to wear once. Normally, most don't bat an eyelid, then 2-3 years later when they're filtering through their warehouse that makes-do as their wardrobe, they're like "Wow, I can't believe I've only worn this once" :lol:
