WGMG: I was hoping to be not sick and do open today

He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

WGMG: Just got an email from my boss telling me I'm not being rostered on this month, because he's received complaints about me. I haven't heard of these complaints, nor have my co-workers. To top it off, the email came in a day before the new roster starts.

I get $5 pints of Beer and Cider at work. I had a couple of beers before I went in to work, had a couple while I watched the football and then had a cider as my knock-off drink...fucked me right up.

Talk to him, tell him you can't improve unless you're made aware of your shortcomings and the only way you can do that is to be told about these complaints and having the opportunity to rectify them, which has been taken away from you. If he then doesn't roster you any hours, quit.

This GMG so much, especially people who sign up to the gym, go, and spend 4 hours running on a treadmill, or cycling on a power bike and then go home. If you're going to combine it with weights - sure, fine, but if you're going just for the cardio side, then why don't you go out, buy a bike a cycle - much better, or strap on a pair of joggers and go for a run. The idea of running on the spot continuously for hours on end just not interest me in the slightest.

It all comes down to the individual tbh. Of course just running or riding around the streets is easier etc, but some people prefer the gym experience. Whether it be safety or just doing sonething around other people. I used to run around a suburb here and it'd get boring even with music.. But I've also been to a gym and found it more interesting with others doing it and making me want to keep going.

He has 2 mountain bikes and a road bike. Our family, I think, has 15 bikes between the five of us. He used to ride 40km to work everyday. He says he needs to build his fitness back up before he can start riding properly again.

I can understand running on a cross-trainer because of my knees, but the cycling thing really erks me at the gym I was there a few months ago and I saw a guy ride (I kid you not) 90 km on an exercise bike. I turned up to the gym, he'd done about 30km, and he left just as I was warming down next to him.
That said, I go to the uni gym, so he probably had ulterior motives...
