Yeah they're raising the leaving age and realised that there's no point to it, especially now that the only way you'll be able to leave before you turn 17 is if you have a trade already lined up.

It's good that the State Govt finally realised how out-dated and useless it is.

I agree, but after this year it won't matter with the school certificate gone and will be replaced by a different credential, which could recognise extra-curricular activities and will take into account a student's achievements at the time they leave, and not just in some exam they did a year earlier.
