WGMG: I hyperextended my right ankle yesterday when I tried to clear a ball from our box at the same time as an opposition striker was taking a shot. It hurt at the time but I ran it off, finished the last half our of the game and forgot about it until this morning when I woke up my ankle twice as big as normal and hurting like hell.

It's funny how they expected us to come out and dominate Brisbane 1-0 up away from home

All the Melbourne fap threads would've crashed the forum.

WGMG: Quote:Australian and New Zealand political leaders say a Kiwi journalist's description of Australian World War I soldiers as "lazy bludgers and thieves" is disrespectful to the soldiers of both countries.
Jock Anderson made the comments during a Radio New Zealand panel discussion last week about a new book by former Australian Army officer and Department of Veterans Affairs historian Graham Wilson.
In Bully Beef and Balderdash, Mr Wilson questions myths surrounding Australia's WWI and WWII volunteer forces, including the legend of the bushmen who transformed into natural warriors on the battlefield.
Advertisement: Story continues below "The Aussies have been reluctant soldiers at the best of times, and they've been essentially lazy bludgers, some of them - excellent black-marketeers, scavengers, poachers and thieves," Mr Anderson told the panel.
"Occasionally, they've actually been quite good soldiers, but there was no way that they can hold a candle, in my opinion, to the Kiwis."
New Zealand Prime Minister John Key said Mr Anderson's comments were a black mark on the Anzac spirit, just days out from commemorations on Wednesday.
"While I have enormous respect for the New Zealand forces and support one point that (Anderson) put forward, which is that our forces have and continue to be magnificent in the work that they carry out, denigrating the Australians as part of that analysis I don't think is appropriate," Mr Key said.
He had seen the Australian forces during visits to Afghanistan and Gallipoli, and said they did a good job.
"The spirit of the Anzac tradition is alive and well. That was a tradition forged on the battlegrounds in Gallipoli, and to take away from their efforts I personally find quite offensive," Mr Key said.
Australian Defence Minister Stephen Smith said Mr Anderson would come to regret his comments.
Mr Smith told reporters at Leeuwin Barracks in Fremantle on Monday that the comments were "disrespectful" to those who fought for both sides of the Tasman.
"Anyone who has been to Gallipoli, who has been to the New Zealand monument at the top of the hill, who understands the contribution that our Kiwi brothers and sisters made in Gallipoli alone - let alone other conflicts, including and up to Afghanistan - would dismiss those comments with the disrespect they deserve."
^^^that^^^. Bloody bastard, bet he's never been near a war field in his life. A true example of 'taking life for granted'.

WGMG: My exam timetable for uni. A load or horse shit. By the time I get home and in bed it'll be 11:30pm and need to be up again at 6:00am for the exam the next day. How the hell are you supposed to perform at your peak? WAGMG: A group member being a cockhead and adjusting a tripod when surveying, meaning our results are too far out and we have to repeat the practical. That's 3.5 hours we wasted the first time and another 2.5 probably on friday to fix it up. It also means that it reduces the time we've got to complete the practical by almost 2 weeks. Added to the fact that so much other stuff is coming up to be due. I wish I could punch his lights out atm.

I'm doing a 4th year structural design project and I feel like I could punch a hole in a brick wall. That exam timetable is ridiculous. I had a shit one last year in first semester, but none as bad as that. 2nd year, mate? What uni are you at? And, ahhhh, materials and fluid mechanics. My 2 best courses to date, results wise. :p

Speaking of group work...
We had an assignment due in today, just me and one other guy. A mature age student. You're cringing already, aren't you?
I'd put together all the powerpoint and the entire summary. All he had to do was put in his references in APA formatting. He fucked it all up so bad I had to re-do all of his references, fix every single one of his numerous spelling mistakes and organise all his crap for him. He couldn't type faster than 5 words per minute so I had to do all that for him too. He may as well have just sat in the corner and done fuck all.

Benjo wrote:WGMG: AF. You can't win with that lot. It's ridiculous, should shut it down for 3 days or something. I'm gonna make one and only comment on that match. After viewing multiple angles and talking to a few people, penalty was correct. Jarred Gillet was referee of the season, so hence deserves the final. No match official at that level would favour one team over the other so all those factors are irrelevant. Benjo wrote: If it makes you feel any better, i only have one, on Monday the 4th. Cheers mate. :P It's the draft timetable, so hopefully they've come to their senses by the time it's made official on Friday afternoon. MM wrote:2nd year, mate? What uni are you at? At least you didn't have an exchange student that can only speak about 3 words of English and hence has no clue what the subject is about. After the second year I just did all the group assignments/labs by myself if I was allowed to because it was more of a hassle to organise meetings and getting people to do work than to just do it by myself.

WGMG: People expecting that I help them pick up and move 10+kg boxes of equipment when I very noticeably have a sprained ankle and am struggling just to walk. I can help them pick it up but I'm not going to be able to go anywhere with it.

Uni group work is ridiculous. Quite frankly I'm surprised we've never had an American style mass-shooting because of it. The bottom line is, even if you're friends with people in the group, don't trust anyone. Do your part, but stay up a little later at night and do everyone else's, just in case the worst case scenario decides to occur.

The fact that you have to do this (especially at my university) shows everything that's wrong with the concept

Edited by felixx_17: 25/4/2012 02:29:12 PM This happened to me once...kinda...but worse  Years ago I was watching signs at home, late at night with the girl from next door. We've got the lights off and it gets to the scene where they're hiding in the basement and the aliens are stalking around the house when there's this *BANG* on my lounge room window. We both shit ourselves and jump so high we fall off the couch. I get a torch to see what the fuck it was, and there's this dazed looking Tawny Frogmouth laying sprawled out on the ground.

WGMG: When people post a status saying 'should I get a tattoo, thoughts??'. If you want a tattoo, it should be your decision not randoms on Facebook and it's even worse when it's like 15-year-olds posting it.
