How does it stuff you up? It costs more? Of course it freaking costs more, it costs more for them to give you that service.

Thats how it stuffs me up. Why should i pay more when i have a set fee and its been agreed upon? They will still get their money, just not right now, but when i get back and go back to using the service.

When you signed your contract, you would have agreed to their fees and conditions for International Roaming. Simple as that. Your normal call rates etc, and international roaming are completely separate, and you've agreed to the terms of both. If you refuse to use either, that's your own problem, and nothing on them.

And it's not as simple as just ignoring the next month/whatever. When you sign up, you sign up for a contract over a period of time. 24/12 month contract. That means the contract runs from Date A, to Date B, and includes all months within that.

I did not sign on for international roaming. I read my contract and went through it, there was nothing in there about international roaming.

It may not reference it directly, but I'm certain it'll be in there. Either way;

Optus offer International Roaming for people going overseas, I know, I've used it before.
You are making the choice to not take advantage of this.
Thus you are making the choice to not use your phone for that period of time.

It's not like your phone is going to disappear for that period of time is it? I bet you're planning to take it, and get a short term Sim Card in whatever country you're going to? You realise that part of what you pay per month is actually paying off the phone? And not just youe Call/SMS rates?

One of my friends is a massive sport team whore. Like Funky said, at the end of the day,a contract is a contract. How pissed would you be at Optus if they decided not to offer you a service for this month, but instead they'll add an extra month onto your contract.

Wgmg : driving to Doncaster east for work . Spent and hour and A half looking for the job I was dropping off to, found the site randomly turning into a nursing home and what do you know .
