About a year give or take. Sucks to be me. She works as Whistler and is working at the Winter Olympics...

I'm thinking about heading over after that in March for a few weeks. I'm heading to Europe I think in Aug/Sep and she might be coming with. However we have to play it by ear and see what's doing because a few months is a long time apart.

Edit: I guess this qualifies as relationship talk??? Maybe I should call in our resident ladies man, my man Avy. :cool:

Nope. IMO there is no such thing as a "break". Either you are together and faithful, or you are not. So yeah we decided to give it a crack staying together. Worst that can happen is we break up, which is the only other option at the moment anyway.

but there is such a thing as being away from each other for too long, some people would find that a year is too long,

ive met many backpackers who have been out here for a year and they have been on breaks with there partners because they feel a year is too long esp being on the other side of the world

Yeh definitely a year is too long to not see each other. But if all goes okay for the next two months and I spend a few weeks in March with her, then another couple of months then spend Aug/Sep with her then see her again in Nov/Dec when she gets back home then it is not really a full year. Those times hanging out with each other will ultimately decide whether we go for the next couple of months apart or just break up i guess.

Everybody is different though. And if going on a "break" works for people that is fine, but to me a "break" is the same as a "break up". :-k
