Quote:i don't feel overly reassured, after all this is coming from the guy who's got over 30,000 posts You're welcome. Just found out that Dolly the sheep was named after Dolly Parton because the sheep's DNA was sampled from the original sheep's mamory gland. And apparently on average the cells in your body are only 10 years old. This "QI" show with Stephen Fry is awesome.

The few recent shows of it that I've seen are really awesome...I've missed a lot of the most recent ones because of work.

Was browsing imdb today in media and came across the realization that Charlie Hunham (Pete Dunham in Green Street) is Patric in Children of Men. I'm not sure but I believe Patric is the crazy killer with dreds

Speaking of stickies I am surprised at why the hell the "how old are you" thread is still up? Surely it's pretty stale by now.

Any thread over 250 pages should be stickied IMO
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

marconi101 wrote:Any thread over 250 pages should be stickied IMO Would have too many threads clogging the first page then. If they are popular enough to have 250 pages, they'll stay on the first page by their own right. If they fall off, they dont deserve front page status! :P

 How bout the endless supply of Funky thread games be stickied so that they won't be held up, etc?

Hey dudes I'm looking for some advice. Pretty much quite a few people know I'm gay, and my formspring was bombarded with questions of it yesterday. I really want to be fully out, it would make my life so much easier and I have many people who would support me through it. Except there are two things (plus my bravery) stopping me: 1) I don't know how I would go about it, I was thinking about a mass FB post tagging everyone who has helped me. 2) My dad.
:-k Thoughts? Anything is appreciated :)

Nope, that's the thing. I know he is going to react badly. He went off at my sister two nights ago because she said she wanted to follow Buddhism (seriously). If he's like that with religion...
And he called gay Christians, not real Christians. I'm not religious, but you get where I'm coming from.

I think maybe you should speak to your mum and dad and the rest of your family about it before you come out on fb etc. It shows your dad a shitload more respect by actually telling him before you 'come out' and that you care about what he thinks. He might react badly but if you have your mum and sisters there to help it might be okay. I just think it would be a lot worse if you went 'public' about it on fb and he found out off somebody then thought my son can't even speak to me etc.

But I have no idea how I would summon up the courage to say it to him.

My mtae Morgan was in a similer dilema a little while back. His folks are hardcore Christian, and when i mean hardcore, he's basically got no social life whatsoever, they didn't so much burn his Metalica albums as firebombed them because they were "sacreligious". In the end after much discussion with him at school, he decided to announce it on facebook. Just put it on his status. Anyway, everyone took it well, and he was really shy beforehand, but became a really cool guy afterwards, he went from really shy with a small group of friends, to one of the most popular guys in the school. His parents inevitably found out, but his mum took it well, and after much consoltation with his dad, he finally gave in and accepted it - although i'm sure his dad spent many an hour on his kneese at the local church!!! Seeing as your mum, and ya sister/s know - i suggest you talk to them first, sounds like they're all cool with it, perhaps they could break the news to your dad, then get your dad to have a meaningful d & m with you, and try and smooth it out, A lot of hardcore Christians think being gay means your gonna be one of those flamboyant gays, who spends all his time in oxford street and acts like Bruno, having met you, i don't think you're anything close to Bruno . But if he doesn't take it well then, overtime, as long as you make sure you don't get caught pashing too many guys around the house, he'll come too eventually, he's bound to.
WOLLONGONG WOLVES FOR A-LEAGUE EXPANSION!
