Holy crap I ran bad at poker last night. Got done by 3 outers three times and a 2-outer twice.

You know that weird feeling when you got a song in your head, you turn on the radio, and Bam! what are they playing? That exact song, exactly at the point you were playing it in your head. Had the experience about 15 minutes ago. Got home from the Pub, and I was humming 'Example - Change the way you kiss me', turn on Nova 96.9, and what are the 10 seconds into? Yep. Same song. It's a weird, but awesome feeling when that happens.

What's creepy about it though, is on the walk home as I was humming it, I was thinking "What a strange feeling if I got home and they were playing it".

im not really a fan of the mainstream radio. they play the same bloody songs all the time. 90% of them are all crap songs. its bloody annoying. when they not playing music, they talking about some stupid shit. the other day they were talking about condoms with lady gaga.

on monday night, i was in the car with some mates and 3 stations were playing the same katy perry song. get some friking perspective people. there are more than just a few artists out there. i weep for this generation, they know not of great music.

Mainstream music is just plain shit. No other adjective needed. I hate it. Like Zimbos said, I feel sorry for this generation not knowing good music. I miss the 90's. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden et al. would never get mainstream play nowadays.

Anyone computer savy? I need to back up my laptop before it gets formatted. I've taken off all settings that I want to keep and load on to the formatted 'new' laptop, except for my internet history. Little tacky kinda, but I like all the links I've saved, and typing a few letters and its there. Cheers for any help.

I've been lucky with the two jobs I've held since leaving school.

My first job, labouring for a mates dad, he came round to my house asking if I needed a job, I said yes, he said "Good. You start tomorrow"

And now with my current job, I was up the pub having a quiet one with my Grandfather and the then-licensee was talking with us, and I casually asked him if he was hiring, he said "bring up your resume, I'll pop it on top of the pile, so if we do need anyone, you can be first cab off the rank". I did, a month later, Boom. I get a phone call one afternoon asking if I can work that evening. :D

The thing about resumes, especially at our age, is they need to be nice and simple. You're not applying for the CEOs position at Telstra. You're a teenager looking for a bit of cash to splurge on a girl, or at Maccas. Fast-Food chains, etc understand this, that's why 75% of staff at Maccas, KFC, Hungry Kevins, etc. are all teenagers (Or Indian, but that's another matter).

So all you need to put on yours, is where you've gone to school, if they're looking for leadership, say you captained a representative sporting team. And you can bend the lines a bit, say you're a Grade A student at school. It's very unlikely some bored-of-his-arse 42-year old manager at McDonalds is going to ring up your school and demand school records, how you behave in class etc. You don't need to make it look like you're applying for some high-end job that's paying $150,000 a year. You're a teenager, most places understand that.

Oh, and makes sure it's short, sweet, concise and to the point. Managers arn't going to want to be using your resume as somthing to read on the bus. 1 page. Detailed, but simple.
