What was the Mexican keeper doing at the end there :lol: When the South African striker hit the post, instead of dropping to the ground to cover his near post he jumps in the air.

I feel he's gonna be a real liability for Mexico. That 5 minute period at the end of the first half, when South Africa had more corners then the earth, he looked very uncomfortable. He doesn't look confident - given that he's quite short - but i can see teams to come targeting that in the future.

Why are they repeating the game on SBS? :lol: :?

Was down at Darling Harbour, heaps of South Africans and Mexicans there.

They wouldn't let anybody in between 11.30 and halftime in the first game... I assume because of overcrowding, but there was a lot of free space.

I'm worried how they are going to deal with the capacity at the German game, as it will be much larger than the crowd tonight I bet.

When i had a little nosy around on Tuesday when they were setting up - i took some photos and posted em on here - there didn't appear to be a lot of room.

There's a lot of construction work going on. Is it spread all along down to the resteraunts, or are they pushing them back towards what was Tumberlong Park?

France should be 1-0 up. Grat ball in by Ribery and completly missed. Uruguay let off the hook.

Indeed, Uruguay haven't started well, almost reminiscent of the earlier South Africa/Mexico game.

Did you see the curl on the ball right on the end. Some of the players are complaining about the lack of curl, but there were a couple of shots in the mexico south africa game that curled heavily, but late.

same happened there, hadn't it been for the acrobatics of the keeper, that woulda curled right into the top right hand corner there with not much room the spare.

I actually think that wasn't intended. I think he was trying to whip it in but got too much curl on the ball. Will be interesting to see whether this is a random pattern, or whether instead of getting an average level of curl you get either none or heaps of curl.

Half-Time 0-0... Uninspiring game so far. Only about 2 or 3 real chances... hopefully it gets more open in the 2nd half

France have dominated that half, absoloutly dominated and are unlucky not to be up 1 or 2 nil. Just like the earlier game With Mexico, France Dominated that, and basically controlled it up untill the 20th minute when Uruguay finally got back into the game.

Speaking of which, Uruguay have had a poor first half. Looked very sloppy and unorganized and at times looked out of their depth. Their defense looked more unstable then a drunk on the town at times, and Anelka and Ribery tore them the shreds at times. Despite this, they have had a couple of good chances, one from Forlan, who probably has been their best on park for mine, aside from their keeper who has made a few good - crucial - saves.

This 0-0 scoreline is flattering Uruguay. Sure, they've improved a bit since the break, but France still dominating. The French will be getting fustrated - if they arn't already - they should be 2 goals up - at least.

It's really showing from both sides... A few stray challenges here and there
