i will now cave and say germany is the team to beat this world cup... even spain if they get over paraguay wont be happy to see a confident germany in the semi-final esp one with the most goals this tournament.

spain or paraguay need to watch out for the run from the wings. it'll be an interesting match since both germany and spain can play an open wide game but one things for sure, germany are fast on the counter. luckily for spain, they have a very good defence, more so than argentina but without going to far ahead, paraguay could very easily get one over spain.

I'm very glad I put a lazt $20 on Germany to win at $15 at the start of the tournament.

I'll change my tip and go Germany vs Netherlands final with Germany winning 2-1 in a repeat of 1974.

i had argentina winning the world cup but depending how the paraguay game goes, its going to be a spain vs netherlands final

argentina defence was always a worry for me but i was hoping the likes of messi would fire but it clearly was a little too much for the very fast german outfit. Spain have an experienced coach (unlike maradona) have a very organised defence and if torres can get on the scoreboard this morning, germany will need to be careful, playing a counter against an equally fast and flowing spanish side wont be easy pickings. Germany defence isn't that great and with muller out of the semi, I can see spain going thru (thats if they dont get any silly cards and lose)

I just got home, and I'm a little baked, but I don't think the Germans have massacred anyone as efficiently as that since the Jews.

My fucking lord that was just incredible to watch. Argentina were systematically dismantled on every part of the pitch. Messi had a reasonable game, too, he wasn't anonymous - he just could not be effective against this team.

I must say it was a harsh call on the encroachment. You see that with pretty much EVERY penalty that is taken.

I know its the law, but see the Paraguayan pen? Cardozo should have had another chance by the letter of the law.

I missed the replay of the first penalty. Were there Paraguayan players in the box as well as Spanish players.

Should've been another penalty on Fabregas. Keeper took his ankles and got none of the ball.
