Has to be. Absolutely brilliant

He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Any intellectual snobs here? I'm not but lately I've been enjoying some films from the silent era, particularly F.W. Murnau's City Girl, Fritz Lang's Dr Mabuse and Die Nibelungen, and G.W. Pabst's Diary of a Lost Girl starring Louise Brooks, of Pandora's Box fame. Die Nibelungen is like the original fantasy epic and inspired the likes of The Lord of the Rings and Star Wars.

Logan is goooooooooooooooooooood

I didn't think it was nearly as good as the talk has been. Something just seemed off for the whole movie. I couldn't figure it out and it stopped from emerging myself into the story. I have since seen that much of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine was CGI and suspect I may have subconsciously been picking up on that, even though I didn't see it at the time.
There also was too many things left unexplained for my liking, from the start of the film to the end.

Thread has been dormant for too long...

Blade Runner 2049.  Saw it yesterday.  Very brave film.  Long, slow, doesn't tie everything up in pretty little bows - quite happy to pull the rug out from under your feet too.  Had the strange effect of earning my respect but not my love.  Would recommend it though.  Visuals are good but sound is amazing.

This would be my exact review for the first one.
Re-watched it the other day, didn't grab me but I did think about it for a while after.. Will wait for this new one to come to foxtel.

I thoroughly enjoyed Blade Runner 2049. Loved the music, the cinematography, the atmosphere, the acting. I loved how you had to work things out instead of it being conveniently explained and watered down to you. I liked the cliffhanger-esque ending, very un-American. Honestly up there with Birdman and BvS: Ultimate Edition as recent masterpieces IMO

I will fight until the Sun scorches the deep in defense of that movie. It was fantastic just like Watchmen (I refer to both extended editions). It should be noted that I am a massive Snyder/DC/Batman fanboy

No. TDK flowed better and wasn't as convoluted

I didn't think BvS was a masterpiece but IMO it was nowhere near as bad as most make it out.

I've said it once and I'll say it always - you comparing it to TDK, you've compared to the worst movie in the trilogy.
