Brisbane Roar chairman, Ahmed Essof is reportedly unhappy with the Wagga kangaroos over the transfer of Bastian Schweisnteger.

Schweinsteger has reportedly been a target of the Brisbane club since he went on the market.

Wagga Kangaroos managed to secure his signature, but with the clubs in a transfer window period, the German is still available for a move elsewhere.

Essof is reportedly unhappy with the lack of co-operation from the Kangaroos and believes that every offer they have made is of respectable amount.

Brisbane are also believed to be willing to up any offer previously made should the Kangaroos be willing to listen.

The relationship between local A League club Wagga Kangaroos and Brisbane Roar has deteriorated after the Roar Chairman Ahmed Essof announced he's unhappy with the process that the Kangaroos went about in signing their new big name recruit, German international Bastian Schweinsteiger. In what was a large coup signing for the Kangaroos, Skysports.com ran the story that Essof is unhappy with the Kangaroos co-operation in their bid for the German. Wagga Kangaroos chairman Chris Avnell took a moment out of his hectic schedule to speak with us. 'Simply put, we abided by every rule in the book in our signing of Bastian. If Brisbane couldn't offer enough cash then they didn't deserve to sign him. It's as simple as that.' Avnell also told us that he won't necessarily refuse all offers for the German, but it will take an extremely large offer for him to even consider it.

ESSOF RESPONDS TO WAGGA AND TASSIE

Supersport sat down with Brisbane Roar chairman, Ahmed Essof to get his responses in the latest to unravel regarding Bastian Schweinsteger.

SS: Is it true you think Wagga went out of the rules to sign Schweinsteger?
AE: No, not all. What they did was all legal and in the rules.

SS: So what seems to be the problem?
AE: We have made some approaches with regards to signing him and weve been met with blunt No. We can understand if the offer is not to their liking, he is their player after all, but when we made approaches with regards to what they want and what can be done, we received no response. Not even a facebook message.

SS: How much would you be willing to offer?
AE: We have a substantial transfer budget and would be willing to offer a good price, however i prefer not to discuss the actual numbers

SS: Tassie United have come out blasting you as Wenger like whinger, what is your response to that?
AE: If i whine like him, imagine the football we will play (Pauses). In all honesty, i dont want to whinge, if that is how i came across, its not my intention. I just want to sign the player and get working on our squad and the tactics. Its hard for a manager to work if the squad is not in order.

SS: If Schweinsteger the final piece in the puzzle then?
AE: We like to think we have a squad at the moment that can do the job. Having Schweinstger will make us that extra bit better and give us that extra attacking impetus. We also looking at a squad defender and would be willing to listen to anyone who has defenders for sale.
