Titans' QB Vince Young has joined The Eagles to play as Vick's back-up on a one year deal.
I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of movement from the Packers.
Edited by afromanGT: 30/7/2011 05:53:40 AM It'll be Ryan Grant backed up by James Starks this year. I'd say that's pretty decent. Jackson never really did it for me, not disapointed to see him go. Little more worried to see that Nick Barnett and Mark Tauscher are showing as released on the Packers website, although often they release players from a deal and resign the next day.

Obviously Ryan Grant being out most of the season hurt us, but I think we need a third option behind starks and Jackson was really good for that. I still reckon we need another RB. James Starks and Jordy Nelson are going to have big years on offence IMO.
Mark Tauscher, at 34 won't have much place behind Derrek Sherrod this season probably. And I'm looking forward to what he can do.
Nick Barnett has been comfortably usurped by Clay Matthews - who let's be honest, is a fucking GOD - and Brad Jones, who although inexperienced has been very promising in training and in the games that he's played pre-injury. I was also really impressed with Frank Zombo last season, so I don't think Outside LB's are going to be much of a problem.
It's pretty obvious that come seasons end we're going to trade up draft picks to get as high as possible in order to get the best WR available to replace Donald Driver, who turns 37 at the end of the season and hasn't made a 20+ yard reception since week 15 2009 (IIRC). Unless Randall Cobb has a huge season.

Very happy to see the back of VY, Babin im sad to see go, but he's not worth a big contract on the back of 1 decent season. I dont expect much in terms of results but i just want to see some players step up and get some gametime. Jared Cook, Derrick Morgan, Akeem Ayers and need big seasons from Micheal Griffin, Kenny Britt and Matt Hasslebeck. With a whole new coaching staff the gameplan will be a little different. In my opinion, we'll go 5-11 or 6-10. Colts 11-5 Texans 10-6 Jags 8-8 Titans 5-11 We also signed Barrett Ruud overnight and he'll most likely be our starting Middle. No idea what defensive structure jerry plays so will have to wait and see what scheme we go with. Edited by shaker: 31/7/2011 07:06:52 PM

Shaker, are you in for the Fantasy Football?
I think the Titans have been recruiting pretty well. They'll be on the cusp of the play-offs.

I think the Titans have been recruiting pretty well. They'll be on the cusp of the play-offs. Yeah man im in! Only thing holding us back is that we are probably the weakest team in our division, and we have 6 games against them, plus the AFC North and NFC South. But if we click and the partnership of Hasslebeck and CJ reaps, then wildcards will be getable.

Given that we've only got 8 teams selecting 10 players, that's 80 players being drafted...at 2 minutes a selection...will take us around 2.5 hours.
I'm fine with being up until 1am doing this...but I dunno about F1WC and Azzurro89 (the owner of NY Sack Exchange), who probably have to work the next day.

I'm not sure if the game will let you...but you might be able to come active part way through the draft when you get home and take it from there.

Alright, looks like we're going with an offline draft then and if someone gets a player you want, you can trade for them.

Ok, I've set the draft so the NFL site automates it tonight, so everyone's teams should be together tomorrow.

Quote:Jones, Kuhn agree to three-year deals with Packers
MILWAUKEE -- Free-agent wide receiver James Jones is returning to the Green Bay Packers.
Agent Frank Bauer confirmed Sunday that Jones has agreed to a three-year deal with the team.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but Bauer said Jones is glad to be back and the Super Bowl champions are happy to have him.
"Everybody's very, very happy," Bauer said, in a telephone interview with The Associated Press.
Several media outlets reported the deal earlier Sunday, including the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Jones explored the free-agent market, but several teams looking for receiving help signed other free agents. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has said the team should make keeping Jones a top priority.
Also Sunday, the Green Bay Post-Gazette reported that the team came to terms with running back John Kuhn.
Speaking to reporters in Green Bay earlier Sunday, Rodgers said he still was holding out hope that Jones and free agent running back John Kuhn both would return to the team.
"I am, yeah, for sure," Rodgers said. "He's an important part of this team. He plays a big role for us. We need to add him back, I think. We need to add John Kuhn back. Those are two guys out there right now who are important to us. It's not my decision, but I'm definitely pulling for those guys to bring 'em back."
Packers coach Mike McCarthy said earlier Sunday that he hoped to have both players back after losing guard Daryn Colledge to the Arizona Cardinals, defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins to the Philadelphia Eagles and backup running back Brandon Jackson to the Cleveland Browns in free agency. The Packers have retained kicker Mason Crosby.
"You're always hopeful to keep your own players," McCarthy told reporters in Green Bay. "So, yeah, I'm hopeful that both of those guys are able to come back. Just like the men that left here. You don't want to lose your own guys, that's for sure. That's the way we're built. We draft them and develop them, but the reality is you can't keep everybody. It's hard to see some go. That's just the nature of our program."
Jones, a third-round draft pick out of San Jose State in 2007, has 149 catches for 2,069 yards and 13 touchdowns in four seasons. He also has three touchdowns in seven playoff games. He had five catches for 50 yards in the Super Bowl victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Jones' return leaves the Packers well-stocked at wide receiver, including Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, Jordy Nelson and second-round draft pick Randall Cobb. Brett Swain and a handful of lesser-known players also will get a look during training camp. \:d/

Thank fuck for that <3 Kuhn. He's the man you want if you're third and goal. What a beast.
Peyton Manning has signed a new $90m 4 year contract with the Colts. It's worth more per season than Tom Brady's entire contract.
Exactly how big IS the Salary cap?

Nine years later the Dolphins again trade for a Heismen Trophy winner from the Saints (previously Ricky Williams), Reggie Bush! They agreed for a 2year contract for 10 million.

OMG, am I glad we went with the autodraft!
QB: Peyton Manning, Sam Bradford(BN) RB: Chris Johnson, Jamaal Charles, Ronnie Brown(BN), Fred Jackson(BN), Ryan Mathews(BN) WR: Brandon Marshall, Jeremy Macklin, Mario Manningham (BN) TE: Dallas Clark W/R: Ray Rice K: Seb Janikowski DEF: Baltimore Ravens LB: Ray Lewis LB: Clay Matthews
Looks like I'm a little heavy on RB's, even the WR or RB slot is a back. So I'm open to trades on WR's, esp. whoever got Greg Jennings. :d
Mmmm, Afro, somehow you managed to get Rodgers, Grant, Jennings and Crosby. Looks suspicious, 'cept you didn't get Mathews.:-k

I Wasn't even at the computer when the draw was done, ask the owner of Sack Exchange. I just had a lot of packers at the top end of my draw. I'm pretty heavy on the QB's, picking up Rodgers AND Freeman is a huge win. QB: Rodgers, Freeman RB: Grand, Mendenhall, Steward (BN), Thomas (BN) WR: Jennings, Wallace, Holmes, Ward (BN), Braylon Edwards (BN) TE: Vernon Davis, Owen DAniels (BN) LB: Urlacher, Lofton K: Crosby DEF: Giants. Looking to transfer the Giants for the Patriots in defence, but other than that I'm pretty happy at this point in time. Not sure about the RB's though.

Made a few changes to my team, added around 100 to my rankings from last season...I don't know whether or not to risk having a Rookie RB on my team.
Added up my points projections and got 2683.83. Does anyone know if you get half points for players on the bench or something?
I just realised I've got a 6 players who will be out week 8...need to do something about that :-k
Been hearing some really impressive things about Randall Cobb at the Packers training camp. Looks to be the cream of this year's crop.

You will get no points for your bench players. That's where managing skills come in. Looking at who stands to have a big week. Come the playoffs, bench players will be the tie breaker.

Who wants to do business with me for Josh Freeman?

Quote:Fan sues Sav Rocca over stray football Peter Mitchell From: AAP August 05, 2011 11:34AM SAV Rocca is in legal hot water in the US - and it has nothing to do with the former AFL star's work visa problems. A woman has filed a lawsuit against Rocca and his former NFL team, the Philadelphia Eagles, claiming she suffered "severe, diverse and permanent injuries'' after Rocca kicked a ball into the stands during a fan appreciation night at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field on August 2, 2009. The lawsuit claims Rocca directed a fan to throw the ball back to him, but the fan's throw "missed, causing the football to directly strike'' Debra A Campana who was sitting in, or about, the third row from the field. Campana suffered a left forearm and wrist displaced fracture, other injuries and "severe physical pain, mental anguish and humiliation'', the lawsuit claims. Campana's lawyer alleges the Eagles were careless, reckless and negligent and failed to have procedures and personnel in place to return footballs retrieved from the stands. Rocca, who was signed by the Washington Redskins last week, was a punter on the Philadelphia Eagles between 2007 and 2010. Campana is seeking more than $US75,000. Rocca, the Philadelphia Eagles and The Eagles Charitable Foundation are named as defendants in the lawsuit. Rocca was expected to join his Redskins teammates this week in Virginia for pre-season training, but has been stranded in Australia unable to secure a US work visa. Redskins special teams coach Danny Smith said Rocca had sent a message to the team saying he expected to have his visa and be in the US by Saturday night. The Redskins' first pre-season game is against the Pittsburgh Steelers on August 12. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/confidential/fan-sues-sav-rocca-over-stray-football/story-fn9eu7in-1226108988504

That's a fortnight's wages for Rocca. But nonetheless, that's a fucking bullshit lawsuit. I mean, how much of a cunt do you have to be to sue a charity?

He's probably a better throw than Vince Young :P
Giants first round draft pick, CB Prince Amukamara has limped out of training with a broken foot and could be out of the season.
DeSean Jackson looks to end his hiatus from training with the Eagles as he searches for a well deserved pay-rise and new contract, as the fourth year of his rookie deal ends at the end of the season. Meanwhile, the normally quiet Eagles QB Michael Vick has responded angrily to Lions Defensive Co-ordinator Ryan's comments that the Eagles are the All-Hype team, saying that Ryan is 'all talk'.
Also, that Brett Favre fuckbag has distanced himself from talks of a comeback with Miami Dolphins.
