Packers up 21-10 at the half, and will start with the ball in the 3rd quarter.
I hope we can hold on, especially with 3 DB's injured.

Super Bolw XLV fans turned away from Cowboys Stadium

From: AP February 07, 2011 11:30AM

AT least four hundred Super Bowl ticketholders have been turned away from Cowboys Stadium in Texas.
About 1,250 fans in total were displaced from the match between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers, with 850 given alternative seats.

The NFL said safety was the reason and promised a review.

The NFL said the people relocated were put in “similar or better seats” in the stadium that officials had earlier boasted would house a Super Bowl record crowd.

Those turned away will be given a refund of triple the face value.

However, even $2,700 for $900 tickets may not be enough for those people who paid much more to scalpers, not to mention travel and hotel costs.

What a fucking game. Fantastic finish at the end there, geat pressure to earn the turnover. Absolutely fucking stoked. Still wearing my jersey

You could tell it was a massive turning point in the second quarter when Woodson went down injured. The bloke is a fucking star and was doing such a good job on Wallace. When he went out the Steelers started throwing the ball more and got back into the game.

But wow...Aaron Rodgers, stunning performance in the first half to set up the 21-3 lead and cool head at the end there to get the TD when it was needed.

Wow, I'm still on a high. An unbelievable game, I was so sure the Steelers would come back at the end. I thought they were left with too much time. But the defence held and I went nuts in the living room.
Wasn't wearing my jersey afro, it has a '4' on it so I won't be wearing it again any time soon.
How good was Rodgers? Going back to Nelson on the final drive right after he'd dropped one was amazing. Packers had the 2nd youngest team in the league this year, let's hope this is the first of many for this group.

 unlucky. Tbh, I'd burn it. Post the video on youtube and buy a new one.

That was a ballsey move, going back to Nelson. Two plays down the right for Nelson and he goes for a third but Nelson's cut up the inside and left Jones completely unmarket. Great call.

Clay Matthews' spying was great too. Really unsettled Roethlisberger on that final drive for Steelers.

How good was Frank Zombo? Two sacks, an assist and 9 tackles!

When I look at the young lads at the club this season who have been fantastic - guys like Starks, Zombo, Quarless, Matthews, Raji, Mathsay...the team looks really good going into the next two or three seasons. Even guys like Rodgers, Crosby, Jones, Jennings, Hawk and Lang are only in their mid-20's. The next three or four years could be VERY exciting for the Packers.

The only real question is, how long can guys like Charles Woodson and Donald Driver keep going?

And even then, when you consider some of the performances turned out this season with numerous big names being out injured...

Yeah, when I was in Green Bay in '03 I was going to get a Driver jersey, but for whatever reason I didn't. Still, i spent 400 US in the Packer Pro Shop anyway.
Both Driver and Woodson have maybe 1 or 2 years left in them. The problem with these backups proving themselves is they might now be offered the chance to start elsewhere.

I think Zombo, Quarless, Matthews and Raji wil all be starting next season. Crosby might be used as trade bait in order to find a replacement for Woodson so he'll stay for a season or two more, Lang might move on...but that's about all.

Driver will probably call it quits next season, but that's fine when you've got Nelson and Jennings already and will probably go for another reciever in the draft. How is the draft order worked out?

Also...Vick is a free agent for the coming season.

Picks 1-30 go by the win/loss record of the year before, with the same tie breaker as the playoffs. 31 and 32 are the Superbowl loser and winner respectively.

There's a lot of talk about Jono Baldwin and AJ Green in the Wide Reciever position....I haven't really looked to see who's aiming for what yet though. AJ Green has a lot of promise from what I've heard. There's no local lads in the first round nominees either.

Did a bit of reading, apparently we want to replace Chad Clifton in offensive tackle and will go for Jason Pinkston or Anthony Castonzo. I don't know how accurate that is.

I really hope that we pick up a wide reciever to play understudy for Donald Driver, especially if we fail to hold on to James Jones.

There's a lot of key position players with contracts expiring. Jones, Kuhn, Peprah, Colledge and Crosby are all free agents. Hopefully we can hang onto them.

1. Nick Fairley DT (Panthers)
2. Patrick Peterson CB (Broncos)
3. DeQuan Bowers DE (Bills)
4. AJ Green WR (Bengals)
5. Blaine Gabbert QB (Cardinals)
6. Prince Amukamara CB (Browns)

The mock draft I found on NFL forums has:
1. Carolina Panthers: Nick Fairley, DT,
2. Denver Broncos: Da'Quan Bowers, DE,
3. Buffalo Bills: Patrick Peterson, CB,
4. Cincinnati Bengals: A.J. Green, WR
5. Arizona Cardinals: Von Miller, DE/OLB,
6. Cleveland Browns: Robert Quinn, DE,
7. San Francisco 49ers: Marcell Dareus, DE/DT
8. Tennessee Titans: Blaine Gabbert, QB,
9. Dallas Cowboys: Prince Amukamara, CB
10. Washington Redskins: Cameron Jordan, DE/DT
11. Houston Texans: Aldon Smith, DE/OLB
12. Minnesota Vikings: Cam Newton, QB,
13. Detroit Lions: Nate Solder, OT
14. St. Louis Rams: Julio Jones, WR
15. Miami Dolphins: Mark Ingram, RB
16. Jacksonville Jaguars: Ryan Kerrigan, DE
17. New England Patriots: Tyron Smith, OT
18. San Diego Chargers: Corey Liuget, DE/DT
19. New York Giants: Akeem Ayers, OLB
20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Adrian Clayborn, DE
21. Kansas City Chiefs: Phil Taylor, NT,
22. Indianapolis Colts: Gabe Carimi, OT,
23. Philadelphia Eagles: Derek Sherrod, OT
24. New Orleans Saints: J.J. Watt, DE
25. Seattle Seahawks: Jimmy Smith, CB
26. Baltimore Ravens: Titus Young, WR
27. Atlanta Falcons: Torrey Smith, WR
28. New England Patriots: Justin Houston, DE/OLB,
29. Chicago Bears: Mike Pouncey, G,
30. New York Jets: Muhammad Wilkerson, DE/DT
31. Pittsburgh Steelers: Brandon Harris, CB
32. Green Bay Packers: Anthony Castonzo, OT

The general concensus is that AJ Green will be picked up early, probably by Bengals and that Titans and Vikings are looking for QB's. I'll be interested to see where Julio Jones ends up too. Been hearing a lot about him. I'll be surprised if Brandon Harris actually ends up at Steelers, they don't really put a lot of emphasis on that position and they'll probably aim for someone who can play RB or maybe pick him up as trade bait.

Cant see us aka Tennessee, drafting a QB. But usually when you get a new coach more often than not they get a new QB, im hoping we trade for a Kolb or Flynn or McNabb.

If there's one thing for sure, the actual draft will turn out absolutley nothing like anyone's mock draft. Players make a name for themselves at the scouting combine, or go backwards. Or like when Rodgers ended up at the Packers, other teams passed and the Pack picked him up even though they had no plan to draft a QB at the time.

I'm thinking we're more likely to go for a wide reciever than OT. We'll only take an OT if Jones and Green are both snapped up. And I don't think that the Rams are going to go for a reciever. Hopefully AJ Green can slip through the cracks like Rodgers did. We might go for Marcus Ingram to boost the hands team.

I doubt you'll be able to trade for Flynn. He'll want to go, but Titans can't offer any players that we actually need. Their few strengths are in areas that we already have a lot of depth in. Kevin Kolb is a possibility though.

I'd probably take him too, but is it worth giving up a fairly competent back-up QB for? Especially when we've already got quality RB's in Grant and Starks. Starks > Johnson.

Johnson has the runs on the board. If Flynn is going to go, I'd want as much for him as if we were losing a starting QB, which he will be on whatever team he ends up on.

The thing with letting Flynn go is that we don't have a competent replacement. Harrell has never played a senior game.

I'd want Johnson and a first round draft pick for Flynn.

No-one knew if Flynn could do the job till he stepped up vs. New England. There's no way to know if Harrell is ready till he gets a shot.
There is no way Tennesee would give up Johnson and a first round pick. If anything, the first round pick is worth more than Johnson. Besides, it's a trade that won't happen anyway. Odds are Flynn stays till his contract is up and he leaves as a free agent.

Johnson will be a one team man for his career.

You'd want statistically the best quarterback in history in exchange for Johnson? You're fucking mad. Come back when he's the best running back in history and we'll talk.

Flynn could be starting QB at just about any other team in the league (other than Steelers, Eagles and Pats)...wouldn't surprise me if he asked to be traded.

Just quickly, old news now which I actually only found out today because I forgot about it, but Brady won the MVP award unanimously, the first player to do so. That is, he collected 50 out of a possible 50 votes. Superb.
