I doubt Villa will be uprooting a newborn baby for Arsenal. Summer might be a possibility but it just isn't happening this January.

Moving with a baby isn't so bad. It's not like he has to uproot a child that's just started at school or anything.

The main stumbling block is inevitably going to be Barca's unwillingness to sell.

I dunno if this is true or not but from memory, newborns don't travel until they're at least a few months old and the NHS tends to advise at least a month. I think it is allowed even earlier but there are risks.

Funny how most of the transfer speculation for us this window has been over strikers.

We have two strikers competing for the spot who are scoring buckets of goals. We've scored more goals than second placed Manchester city who have superstar strikers like Aguero, Tevez, Dzeko and Balotelli.

Just doesn't seem like a problem area to me... Really need reinforcement in defence.
I would probably have been more excited if we signed a player like Mbwia or Wanyama than a David Villa at this point.

Well here's my two cents on the matter. The fact is, we've been largely impotent for most of our time. When we do play well, we can see scorelines like 5-1 to Arsenal and absolutely thrash teams. On other occasions, we sruggle and can't score at all. The difference with City is that they'll nearly always find the net somehow, we just can't break down the difficult matches and that's because we lack quality and some depth in that quality.

A holding midfielder we probably do need but defensively I think our problems are deeper. The personnel is fine, Kos, Verm, Mertesacker, Gibbs, Sagna, Jenkinson, they're all good defenders and probably good enough for a title challenging side. Collectively however, we're suffering and that's due to the same tactical faults time and time again.

We push too high up, we use the offside trap inappropriately and too frequently, we can't defend corners because we are incapable of adjusting our zonal marking for specific opposition, we can't score from corners either. This is not a personnel problem, it's a tactical one. Wenger and the coaching staff must take the blame.

I don't have a huge problem with out defence personel wise. Agree with Ken that it's a tactical thing. We could maybe do with a new LB, but that can be left till the summer.

If we were to get just 1 player this window I would like it to be either a DM or a striker. I've thought about which I would rather and It's hard to split really. Would love both, and there still is time for both, but if we could only have one I wouldn't be fussed with either.

I just hope we sign someone . Would love a proper dm in the team as le coq is our only one and he is injured , mikki isn't getting any younger and diaby is well ...

:lol: you know me too well. I'll always be hopeful, but it will be disappointing if we don't sign anyone obviously, even if it wouldn't shock me. I mean I wouldn't be surprised either way, whether we sign someone or not.

I'm relatively happy with how we're looking in attack. Just going to hope the back half stops leaking goals and then we might have a decent chance at clinching a top 4 spot and doing well in the champions league and FA cup.

We really shouldn't be going down 2 goals to Liverpool, but in saying that happy that we clawed a result back.

Again, Giroud was superb, his link up play is phenomenal.

Happy we came back, and was happy with the performance for the most part, just disappointing when we really should've won.
