Ended up being Jack who played on the left, though as always the left midfielder (if not a winger type) comes into the middle a lot to allow Gibbo to get forward.
Thoughts from the match? Theo and Koscielny both need a backhand to the face. Theo should have had a first half hattrick minimum and Koscielny giving away yet another unnecessary penalty. He did not have to dive in at all, it was reckless at best.

Still a bit worried about defence. Need to spend on a another good cb in jan. wasteful Walcott again, needs a lesson from podolski on drilling it into a corner. Ozil, well what can I say, can't wait to see him play with cazorla and who needs another striker when we have Rambo scoring for fun

An advanced, central, creative player? Shit, you haven't had many of those.

Rosicky/Wilshere are more dynamic and prefer to run at players. Cazorla did it well last season but again worked better drifting in between the lines.

Gööd result. Hoping the injury list eases soon. Saw something last night saying that Arteta and Podolski could be back sooner than expected.

Really not sure how we pulled that off but happy that the results fall our way in these weird games where they would usually go against us.

Really is the player we've been missing since Cesc left. That video confirms the one and only worry you guys should have about Ozil. I know he was said to be a little under the weather, so you'd expect him to tail off... But... First half - sensational. Second half, with a few tactical tweaks from PDC, his influence was massively reduced. Against better teams than Sunderland (I know what you're thinking - ARE there ANY better teams than Sunderland, but rest assured there are at least a couple) will he be given the freedom of the park for 45 minutes?

Oh yes, I'm super worried. Hmm wait a second: he was sick, first game in the premier league and has only trained once with team mates after missing practice the previous day due to said illness. I think we'll be ok.

Having such an impact in your first ever game, regardless of the opposition, makes for an exciting season to come for Ozil!
And TBH it seems the Arsenal usually compete really well against the bigger clubs - it's always the random non-results v Fulham, Sunderland, Villa etc that happen throughout the season that usually keep them out of distance of the top 2. If they're getting the big results against the little teams, as well as usually competing against the big teams, anything can happen.

Terribly lucky that Sunderland had that goal disallowed, very harsh, if it were my team i'd have felt robbed.
Is Giroud out for a while?

Is Giroud out for a while? Was walking around with no limp after the game and tweeted that he was ok, so hopefully [-o<

Is Giroud out for a while? I'd be pretty salty about that situation, but it wasn't disallowed really because the whistle had sounded quite a lot earlier. When you have a panned out view, you can see Koscielny and Flamini stop, so I think we'd have stopped it anyway. But the level of refereeing - Not great.

Is Giroud in or out for the UCL clash? Would hate for injury to scupper his fantastic run of form, he is fast becoming my favourite player! C'mon you Gooners, a win in Marseille would be massive and in terms of the group almost critical.

10 straight away wins, not a bad stat.
Give Ramsey a life contract pls Wenger, it's not even the fact he's been chipping in with goals, his defensive work and some of his long balls to Walcott have been immense.

I think Gibbo was pretty immense against Marseille as well. Goal line save, kind of an assist and was getting stuck in.

Easy to get taken away with his goals, but the rest of his game has been immaculate. Our best player this season even without the goals. This coming from someone who never really rated Ramsey in the past. Thought Gibbs also had a great game. Giroud wasn't up for it tonight though.
