I get where you're coming from but TBF he has never been tasked with leading the line and has played a fair chunk of his games for us out wide. Fair point as well Fredsta - mind you I can recall countless games he being in the position to score regardless being the wide front player. Just look at last seasons SS show, Suarez always the front man Sturridge having to play behind or wider, look at the score count. I don't want it to seem like like I'm desperate to keep adding a but.....but I will anyway. I get that 100% but Welbeck never had the freedom within our system to become a regular goal scorer like Sturridge. When he played a supporting role to another striker he was mostly restricted to focusing on pressing and stretching defences with his pace and movement, he was pretty much there to do the hard work off the ball when we were struggling to break down teams or up against stronger opposition.

Do you lads think Welbeck would be starting most games? Even if Walcott and Sanchez can play up front, i can't see them having as much on an impact than if they were wide men. I still don't understand why Wenger signed Giroud when he is totally not his sort of striker.

Do you think an Arsenal player could move to United and get a good reception back at Arsenal on their return? Welbeck will get a great reception back at Old Trafford, couldn't see it happening the other way though.
Seen he has already been in a selfie. Kill me.

Someone on Redcafe did an analysis of Welbeck I thought was interesting. All credit of course goes to him: http://www.redcafe.net/threads/danny-welbeck-arsenal-player.393916/page-86 He also had the same conversion rate as Sturridge :') Shit wide, decent up front. I'm excited :) Edited by jlm8695: 3/9/2014 04:01:24 PM

He'll do very well for you I'd imagine if played centrally. I think the comparisons to Sturridge coming to Liverpool are bang on.

:d He's had less time off in the Champions League than the rest of his new team mates barring Sanchez ;)

So apparently Andrei Arshavin was the first ever player to wear the number 23 for Arsenal.

 When was the last time we could say we had 4 players play for England overnight. Would have been 5 had Theo been fit and maybe even 6 if Gibbs were fit.

Depends how we set up. If it was exactly the same as Sydcro posted 4 years ago than yeah but if it was our normal 4-2-3-1 I'd take Nasri over Cazorla on the left.
