Still have a bad feeling about this game though given your 9 game unbeaten streak :-# Nah we got smacked by Liverpool remember? Honestly, a draw against you would be optimistic. Hmmm.. Liverpool :-k Sounds familiar. I'm sure I've heard the name before but I don't think they are one of our close competitors or rivals. Aren't they just some mid table EPL team? :-" The only reason people know they still exist is because they spend stupid amounts of money on shithouse players.

After all the come from behind wins there is something deeply satisfying about a tough hard fought 1-0 away win.
Winning is great, but my God did this moening go perfectly. Now 6 points ahead of Chelsea and a point ahead of Sp*rs. Amazing to think that on the 27th of February every one was predicting us to lose against Sp*rs and be 13 points behind them. A little under a month later and we're 1 point ahead. 11 point turn around in 23 days.

Also a good chance we could be 4 points ahead of them by the end of the weekend.

Isn't it a bit early to be bringing that quote out with 1 point separating the teams and 9 games to go?

And the fact that he was saying that back in October and the way they've collapsed just adds to the hilarity. I mean Sp*rs fans we're celebrating like the season was over before the derby

Lets just say they're not welcome in the older generations home in Enfield anymore  At least we spurs got a point this morning........ bout fricking time the points column nudged up, even if only by 1.

Just finished watching after successfully dodging spoilers all day. Feels weird to win a game from the start \:d/ Another week where everything goes our way :D. Not writing off Chelsea yet though, they are still in good form and no one is ever likely to pick up a point away to City. Need to keep up this intensity, been too many seasons lately where we've had a disaster finish. sydneycroatia58 wrote::lol: Here's what Rafael van der Vaart had to say in October Quote:There is no chance of Arsenal finishing above Spurs. Also well done to our Ladies team who sealed their place in the Champions League semi final with a 1-0 loss away to Gothenburg, but go through thanks to a 3-1 win in the home leg.

Quote: Afobe joins Reading on loan for the season Benik Afobe has joined Championship high-flyers Reading on loan until the end of the season. The 19-year-old will team up with Brian McDermott’s side as they look to continue their push for promotion to the Premier League. This will be Afobe’s first taste of Championship football and follows a successful loan stint at Huddersfield Town last season where he found the net eight times in 36 appearances across two spells, helping the Terriers to the League One play-off final. A regular England youth international, Afobe has featured four times for the reserves this term, having recently returned from a lengthy injury lay-off. He also got his first taste of first-team action during pre-season, coming on as a late substitute against Cologne before making his home debut against New York Red Bulls in the Emirates Cup. Afobe, who joined the Arsenal Academy aged just eight, signed professional terms with the Club in February 2010 and extended his contract in June 2011. Everyone at Arsenal Football Club wishes Benik the best of luck during his time with the Royals. http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/afobe-joins-reading-on-loan-for-the-season

Cool, always had high hopes for Afobe, of which he hasn't lived up to yet. Don't think he will be in the starting 11 given how well Reading have been doing. Hoping they get promoted for Federici's sake and if Afobe contributes then even better.
Would be interested to see what the EPL table would look like if you cut out the first portion of the season till Arsenal's form picked up. We would surely be pretty close to City and United? If anyone has seen or can easily generate one and post it, they would get many thanks. :D

Quote: Aneke joins Preston until end of the season Chuks Aneke has joined League One side Preston North End on loan until the end of the season. The 18-year-old midfielder, who enjoyed a loan spell with Stevenage earlier this season, will team up once again with Graham Westley, who took the England youth international to Broadhall Way before taking charge at Deepdale. The Newham-born youngster joins fellow Arsenal loanee Rhys Murphy at North End as he looks to gain further valuable first-team experience. Aneke signed a new contract with the Gunners last June and has had a breakthrough 2011/12 season. He made his competitive first-team debut as a second-half substitute in September’s 3-1 Carling Cup victory over Shrewsbury Town and has also become a key component of Neil Banfield’s Reserves side, for whom he has scored six times in 10 appearances this term. Everyone at Arsenal wishes Chuks the best of luck during his time with Preston North End. http://www.arsenal.com/news/reserves-news/aneke-joins-preston-until-end-of-the-season

If you don't include the first 7 game weeks (when we hadn't settled into the massive squad changes yet) we would be 2 points behind City and 3 behind MU. PL title push next season?

I really don't see the point in this. It's the same thing as when people make those tables saying where we would be without Robin's goals this season.

It's not just picking some random statistic of my choosing to exclude like you guys are suggesting, it's isolating a negative factor that (hopefully) won't not be there next season. That factor being having an ill adjusted squad. So the point I make is relevent and valid. Completely different to your examples (Unless we lose Robin and only play with 10 men every game ). Anyway, I wasn't being serious that we will compete with those two next season. Just making the point that our season is almost as good as those two aside from our poor start.

Look, I totally understand the point you're making, but I've just never been able to respect that argument. Playing with an Ill Adjusted squad was part of you season, the poor start, was part of your season. That's just how it is.

And if it's not part of our next season while we play as well as we have otherwise this season(while the Manchesters don't improve too much) then we will be title contenders.
It's just statistical speculation on a football forum, It's what forums are for when your bored at work on a Friday afternoon. Do you support any EPL teams Funky? Or waiting out in hope that Celtic make the switch and to fight their way up?

Or waiting out in hope that Celtic make the switch and to fight their way up? Fair enough your point is that the current squad would be good enough for a push next season, I can agree with that. No EPL teams no. I have a soft spot, bordering supporting for United, and also for Bristol Rovers in League 2, but I wouldn't call myself a true fan of either.

Arsenal aren't likely to lose Fabregas again at the start of next season, they shouldn't have any further problems next term. But if things do go pear shaped, I'm sure they'll have an excuse...
