Good to see Jack back in boots and at least light training. Apparently he's back running without any pain, always a good sign. Edited by sydneycroatia58: 24/8/2012 09:36:02 PM

It's frustrating when we get 15 million plus 24 million pounds in from sales and we can't even get a fucking loan in. We shouldn't even be going for a loan with that amount of cash really.

Sahin not coming in isn't really our fault, and imo the club made the right decision in backing out of the deal, wasn't worth it at all. Also Arsene has confirmed he's still looking at strengthening 2 positions and has a clear idea of the business he will do. Talks ongoing with Theo over a new contract and Bendtner the next to leave, most likely next week.

SoccerBible @SoccerBible
Players who've quit #Arsenal in the last 7 years have won 44 winners medals between them at 11 different clubs. Those who stayed have won 0.
If true,

If true, Yeah it's true, but of course the sun article that the stat comes from includes players like Sol Campbell who won 1 FA Cup after leaving the club compared to 3 FA Cups and 2 League titles when he was with the club, Ashley Cole who won almost the same number of trophies at Arsenal as he has at Chelsea, Cesc Fabregas has won the same number of trophies, Hleb whose career has gone down the toilet since he left, Seb Larsson who was never a first teamer anyway, Kanu who won 1 FA Cup after leaving compared to 2 FA Cups and 2 League titles when he was at the club. So yeah, players have won trophies since leaving, but most haven't been any more successful after leaving the club. And those who have won trophies since leaving have either A) had their career go down the toilet or b) not won a whole lot more. I mean it's a nice stat to say, but in reality it shouldn't include players who have won the same amount or less trophies than they won when they were still at the club. "Ashley Cole who won almost the same number of trophies at Arsenal as he has at Chelsea." He's a Champions League winner so that's six major trophies instead of the five he got at Arsenal. "Cesc Fabregas has won the same number of trophies." In seven years at Arsenal he won the FA Cup. In two at Barca he has won the Copa Del Ray; let's face it, he's going to win more with Barcelona. Thierry, at Arsenal, won five trophies in eight years. At Barca, he won four in three seasons. Nasri, who was stand-out against Southampton last weekend, won the title in his first season out of Arsenal. Sure, the argument would go: Hey, if they all stayed they'd have won things at Arsenal. But that's purely speculative. Conversely, it's easier to say that they all left at the right time undoubtedly for better things.

Wenger wrote:"At the moment, it is not alive. Can you be not alive and not dead? It is possible," Wenger told reporters of Sahin's potential arrival.
It's interesting that he says this after Rodgers say's that it's done. Probably wont happen, but I'm hoping it does.

Some interesting quotes from Arsene on the dotcom on the business he will do before the end of the window. Says he does not need to buy an average midfielder and will buy if someone top class comes up. Was very interesting to see him actually mention that he wants someone completely defensive.
Best possible outcome by September 1st is 1 more midfielder and another defender.

Do you think we are looking at a specific position in defence or someone who can play multiple positions down back? Seems like besides from RB, we are fine in our defense personnel.
Think we will buy a DM who can play CB aswell and that will be it.

Also worth paying tribute to the greatest Swede who ever lived, and owner of the greatest mohawk(Well sort of) ever, Freddie Ljungberg who retired yesterday after 502 career games and 88 goals spanning 17 years with 313 of those games and 71 goals in 9 seasons with the club, winning 2 Premier League titles and 3 FA Cups in that time. We'll always have Cardiff 2002

This figure is mental... Yep, and that's why I don't blame the club one bit for ending their interest. Not worth it for 1 year for a player we wouldn't have even had a guaranteed option to buy.

Got all the T Shirts? Stay up to watch every single game including the friendlies? Memorised every song off fanchants.co.uk? Fuck me you must be the hardcore. I better fall in line, nothing's wrong with Arsenal. Ever. Trust Arsene. He knows that Song isn't important, RVP is shit, we didn't really need Fabregas or Nasri and Diaby is world class! Fucking deluded... On a less defensive note: good thing we didn't get Sahin because I was expecting a buy out clause or something. No point paying over the odds for a footballer who won't even stay beyond May.
