Game against Red Bulls in 2 weeks will be interesting. A lot of young guys will get a run out with none of the WC players who played in the knockout stages making the trip.

I'm fairly sure the most widely recognized formation with numbers nowadays is ------1------- 2---4--5---3 ----6--8----- -----10------ 7----9-----11 Or, in Melbourne Victorys case: ------9----- 9--9--9--9 ---9--9---- -----9----- 9---9----9 But personally I love the idea of my holding mid being number 4 (guess why) so like my centre backs being 5 and 6. Depends where you are. I think in England your CBs would generally be 5 & 6 with your holding mid being 4. Mainland Europe tend to have your DM being 6 and CB as 4, whilst South American nations tend to have the DM wearing 5. Nowadays some clubs don't care which shits me off (like Sydney with Pedj Bojic wearing 8, Ranko Despotovic wearing 4 and Paul Reid wearing 9)

Club football I don't really mind about, but imo international football, obviously wouldn't work for tournaments, but you're starting XI should be numbered 1-11 with none of this name on the back of the jersey bullshit.

Ok so disregard that about what Catalan radio said. Ornstein has said Sanchez will have his medical later today, and that he won't be unveiled at the kit launch. Also the final fee will apparently be somewhere around £35m.

Great news about Sanchez.
Hopefully he settles quickly and clicks with Ozil.

Sanchez \:d/ \:d/ \:d/
hopefully opens the floodgates of quality players wanting to be at Arsenal, or at least seeing us as a real option to win the league with before moving to Manc for cash...

I thought Debuchy getting a medical was happening before Sanchez though? Does that mean Debuchy probably won't be happening?

It's a great signing. Still think it's a little like the Ozil signing, not really needed but he is a top player, so bringing him in will only help.

You think Sanchez will play as an out and out striker?

Obviously he will bring goals but to take that next step, you would think you need a world class striker. It's the missing piece now. Not saying Giroud isn't a top class player.

Honestly, I think Giroud can help us take that next step with the right help around him. Showed last season just what he could do and that was with no help at all. I don't think buying a top top class centre forward to replace Giroud was ever an option for Arsene. Giroud is his man and he obviously has faith in his ability to take us to that next level. I for one am really looking forward to seeing, hopefully, Theo and now settled Giroud together for a whole season

Arteta on transfers Quote:One of them it’s almost done I think. I don’t think it’s going to stop here, I think they’ve got more targets. I would say Debuchy is obviously the one that's almost done.

Say we sign Debuchy and either Bender or Khedira. Post your best starting XI

And to think we had to suffer through summers where we were negotiating with Fulham about paying more for Mark Schwarzer or signing Park Chu-Young, Andre Santos, Mikael Silvestre and fucking Squillaci. Club waited 18 years, but they finally gave us signings, in terms of excitment, that compete with Bergkamp.
