Gooner4life_8 wrote:What happened to Gervinho, I thought that deal was pretty much wrapped up? It almost is, all that's left to agree on is a fee. Lille wont want to be to much of a hard ass just because they wont want to lose him for nothing next summer so that and the fact that he wants to come to Arsenal works in our favour. The reason it's dragged out a bit is because the player came back from holidays just last week or something.

Michel Seydoux wrote:I have spoken with Gervinho and he wants to play for Arsenal next season. This is clear but now we must get an agreement between the two clubs. We have maintained contact but still the Londoners have not presented us with a formal offer. Negotiations are ongoing but Gervinho has demanded a solution to the situation soon.

Our new away kit I like it a lot better with the darker shorts. Edited by sydneycroatia58: 27/6/2011 06:26:40 PM

Not liking that away kit I have to say. Our away kits should be the classic yellow and blue.

Not first choice at least. Probably means Mannone will be sold, if it;s true that we are talking to Gordon. I've also heard the stuff about Gordon is complete crap so I got no idea  In the end he would only be coming in to give more competition to Fabianski and Szczesny, who I think will still be first choice.

The amount of people going on and on about Cesc and Nasri not being in the away shirt promo really is just fucking hilarious

I do love how the BBC runs one story that states nothing new, and that nothing has changed and now suddenly his transfer is imminent

Do you rate Thiago Alcantara? Would you take him as part of a deal for Cesc?

Hinderz wrote:Do you rate Thiago Alcantara? Would you take him as part of a deal for Cesc? I rate him definately, but not as a replacement for Cesc. Taking him as part of a deal for Cesc would do both us and Thiago no good I think because imo we'd still have to go and buy a replacement for Cesc and Thiago would still be stuck on the bench. That and I think the club would rather straight cash. If we did take Thiago and he played well Barca would probably come in again in a few years and have a cry and do the same shit they are now and try to get him back.

i thought he'd make a decent backup to Nasri if he moves into the middle like he wants, but i heard barca wanted to put a 8m buy back clause in(obviously they want avoid a repeat of the cesc situation too). I think he'd get slightly more time with us for some reason. hopefully this is true, genius bit of strategy from Real if true http://www.sportsvibe.co.uk/news/football/gunners-handed-50m-bid-for-skipper-by-real-madrid/Edited by Hinderz: 29/6/2011 12:45:44 AM

Gotta love Real, drive the price of cesc up to where it should be and fuck with Barca all in one go
Don't think they seriously want him or think they will get him, just another chance for Mourinho to fuck with Barca  Some quality shit stirring.

Amazing stuff from Mourinho :D I agree they wont get him, but Arsene should get in on the act and accept the bid, it would blow some minds
Barca have "apparently" met Santos' 45m price for Neymar along with 4 other clubs. Rosell's bid for cesc unfortunately wasn't in person (unlike the Spanish press suggested) so he could be met with derision and large guffaws

If they buy Neymar, hopefully it will show Cesc just how little they want him that they're not willing to stump up 45m for a world class midfielder but are willing to for a 19 year old with no European football and 5 international caps.

A big congratulations to the non-flying dutchman Dennis Bergkamp on his appointment as Ajax assistant manager. Would absolutely love to have him back at the club one day.
Just thought I'd leave this here. By far my favourite piece of commentary ever

Actually, it's probably right up there with this.

That UEFA Cup run was just brilliant. It's like they purposely went down by 3 goals just so they could overload the fuck out of it

So another day another case of the media taking something Cesc says and totally twisting it.
And people wonder why he cancelled the press conference that was scheduled for yesterday. Feel so sorry for the guy.

But he is our best player so i hope Wenger stops being such a stingy bastard and pays up. he's not our best player, not even close. Lets face it, he was excellent for 6 months last season and decidedly average for the rest of the season. He is in no way deserving of the same wage as Cesc. This is nothing to do with Arsene being stingy, this is about not letting a player hold the club to ransom, and if he seriously thinks he deserves the same wage as Cesc he can fuck right off for all I care. Honestly if Nasri leaves I won't be that upset. Sure it's not good losing a potentially great player, but that's all it is at the moment. 6 great months doesn't make up for 2 and a half just ok years. If I had to choose between losing him or Cesc it'd be Nasri every single day of the week. As a matter of fact I'd also rather lose Nasri ahead of Rambo, Jack, TV, RvP, Sagna or Szczesny.
