I think the signing of Mikel and Yossi will help Ramsey a lot both on an off the pitch. He will now have some very experienced players around him which can only be a good thing off the pitch, and on it it will mean he won't have so much pressure on him to lead in the midfield. He won't have to be the one to take responsibility for the creativity in the midfield. He can now just get back to what he does best and play without that unwanted pressure. I think that's one big thing that hasn't been helping him in the start of the season.

I also think he'll be much much better once Jack is back. He seems to be so much more confident when paired with him, as we saw in pre-season.

From what I've seen from Ramsey, he seems to be quite a determined player. I like him. I agree Sydcro, I think he needs to work in the background, that quiet achiever type role.

Yeah I think he really struggled having so much pressure put on him with Jack out injured and Song our suspended. He's not like Jack in that he just seemed to deal with all that pressure and didn't really need a settling in. Aaron's still a baby and has to be eased back in, especially since he's not that far back from his injury. The signings of Yossi and Miki will help that a huge amount.

I think it'll be sooner rather than later before we see the Rambo before Shawcross happened.

The other encouraging thing about Rambo is that he hasn't had any of those fucking annoying long term niggling injuries that both Tomas and Eduardo had after their long term lay offs.

Gervinho adds his name to the list of Arsenal players scoring for their nations this weekend. Got a goal and 2 assists against Rwanda in a ACN qualifier.

It's 8 out of 25, and home grown means any players who spent three seasons or 36 months with a club from the domestic league before they were 21 years old.

Thanks for the explination.

Seems Arsenal are a bit short in that department. Whats the FA action on teams who don't meet the criteria?

Clarification: home grown means any players who spent three seasons or 36 months with a club from the domestic league before they were 21 years old, irrespective of nationality. So, for example, Cesc is considered home grown.

Arsenal's home grown players will include:

Szczęsny, Mannone, Gibbs, Djourou, Jenkinson, Walcott, Song, Ramsey, Wilshere. Oxlade-Chamberlain and Frimpong don't have to be counted because they're under 21.

As an example, Owen Hargreaves won't count toward City's homegrown because he served his apprenticeship in Germany.

That squad list I posted only had 21.

In the end you get a squad size of 25. That is made up of 8 homegrown players + 17 non homegrown Over-21 players. If you can't fufill the 8 homegrown players, then you have to leave those spots free. For example if you can only name 3 homegrown players, you can only name a squad of 20, if you can only name 4 you can only have a squad of 21 and so on.

U21 players don't have to be registered to play.

Yeah he's 21, but for this season an U21 player is anyone who is born on or after January 1 1990, and with Wojciech being born in April 1990 he falls into that category.

That's why Gibbs, even though he's 21, isn't counted as an U21 because he was born in 89.

Source? 1st January seems like an odd date. That's not any watershed as far as the season is concerned. And he was 21 before the start of the current season. Otherwise that's just bending the rule for a whole 8 months.
