I think this weekend we will go with the Same, or very similar XI to the Dortmund game, and then they will be rested for the Shrewsbury game. I'd be surprised to see anyone who played against Dortmund play against Shrewsbury. The main headline for the advertisment for this game was - SEE OUR NEW SIGNINGS, so i think those two will play,i would say jenkinson will aswell and hopfully ryo will too,

I wouldn't be surprised to see something like this against Shrewsbury ---Fabianski---
--Jenkinson--Djourou--Miquel--Santos--
---Ramsey--Frimpong---
---Arshavin---Benayoun---Ryo---
----Chamakh--- At least that's what I'd go with, with maybe swapping Benayoun and Arshavin. And in the middle I guess it depends who's fit. If Rosicky is fit I think it will be him and Frimpong. I might even be tempted to start Park upfront over Chamakh, but think he will go with Chamakh. Also think Chamberlain will get some game time. Edited by sydneycroatia58: 16/9/2011 09:16:15 PM

Just wait until we get a settled back four consisting of Vermaelen partnering Per with Santos and Sagna on the defensive wings. Exciting times ahead!

Same. It will be good to actually be able to rotate between Mertesacker, Koscielny and Vermaelen like a normal team  The funny thing is, lets say we bought Cahill, I'd find it hard to put him in over Koscielny tbph.

Also some rumours that Arshavin will be starting in behind RvP in the #10 role. Would mean Arteta dropping a bit deeper next to Song, and I have to say I would be very happy with that. I think we'll line up something like this. ---Szczesny---
--Sagna--Koscielny--Mertesacker--Gibbs--
--Arteta---Song--
--Walcott----Arshavin----Gervinho--
----RvP---- Edited by sydneycroatia58: 17/9/2011 05:15:18 PM

Starting XI: Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Santos, Song, Arteta, Ramsey, Gervinho, Arshavin, Van Persie (c)
So it will be Rambo or Mikel in behind RvP with Shava and Gervinho on the wings. Will be interesting to see Santos play.

I'd hazard a guess that anyone not involved today, like Ryo, Park, Frimpong and Chamberlain will be be starting against Shrewsbury. Injuries permitting obviously.

I think one thing that today proves, well I think so at least, is that our problems are not necessarily the players, I just think we cannot defend. Get Martin Keown in as a defensive coach and leave him with the defenders and let him sort them out.

I just don't understand how we can go from that brilliant defensive performance against Dortmund, to that shit against Blackburn. It just beggars belief

Ohh, hey, look, a flying tree-frog-snake! (Koscielny and Djourou search frivolously, easily manipulated as they are)
Gosh, Koscielny had a shocking start to the season, and he isn't improving. Djourou's always been our go to man for defensive frailty week in, week out. I'm not going to bother trying to summarise anything much more. Woow

I don't get what everyone is going on about with Koscielny going so badly today. I didn't see anything really bad, not like he could do anything about the OG.
And I really am sick of the criticism for him just a few days after his game against Dortmund where he was one of our best.
I don't think he's had a shocking start to the season, I can't remember a game where he was really horrible.

Wow... just reading on statszone
Arsenal had 23 shots to 8 468 passes to 180 68.6% possession 42 crosses  to 12 9 clearances to 42.
Ouch. Unlucky

Not to mention the 2 own goals and a clearly offside goal.
Only we could score 5 goals and still lose.

First half showed Arsenal are capable of playing good football. Second half showed that we have as much mental strength as Terri Schiavo

I don't think he's had a shocking start to the season, I can't remember a game where he was really horrible. Come on SydCro, I can come up with a list of things he's struggled with, the own goal didn't even cross my mind. - Giving away the ball unnecesarily, putting himself under undue pressure with time on hand - His positioning is lacking, being caught out time and time again, not stepping up and tracking when the other central defender has his lines and man in check - His awareness is sub-par (seems off the pace, he was tactically more switched on last season) Is it a wonder he has been the common denominator and the constant in our shipping of 14 goals in 3 games? Maybe it's a coincidence, maybe not. Perhaps I am being a tad harsh and jumping the gun, perhaps not. If you, god forbid, recorded our prior 3 league games, just track Koscielny's spatial awareness, defending and mistakes.

Only we could score 5 goals and still lose. Was about to say this. 5 goals to 2 and lost. Arsenal have the same problems as last year, brilliant to watch, can't find the back of the net. Still having trouble with the set piece. Whats the go with this, i'm most puzzled. How would anyone explain this?
