There's only 6 points separating 7th to 15th, so incredibly tight. Only after Swansea is there an 8 point gap down to Blackburn and the relegation battlers.

I mean if Norwich beat Wigan tonight they'll be just a point behind Pool.

Disgraceful performance. Thank god we won the Carling Cup, because we won't even make 5th place this season. Not one player on the park today looked like they wanted to be there. Our passing was so slow and predictable, we were never going to get a goal. Out of the 8 premier league games this year, we've only won once! And that was against Wolves! If any other manager was in charge he would have got the sack by now. As much as I wanted Kenny to bring back success to the club, he is not the way forward.

Performance was terrific at Anfield but last night... that's the worst game I've seen us play this season. Worse than the Bolton one. It was apalling. Gutless.

Now, yes I am against Suarez but I just watched the game and for me he was the the main reason everything fell apart for Liverpool. He spent more times flapping his arms about, giving it to the ref, his teammates, appealing for handball when he could of been closing down etc.
With Gerrard on the bench, they needed someone to drive the team forward and Suarez can lead from the front and in my eyes, he let them down. It was about him last night, not about Liverpool.
To harsh? Or does he need to pull his head in?

To harsh? Or does he need to pull his head in? Only a United fan would try to blame Suarez for that result  Dirk and Bellamy offered him no support, nor did Adam/Hendo from behind. He still looked our biggest threat, beat O'Shea/Turner/Bridge multiple times but couldn't find the net. He was one of our best and it's ludicrous to blame him. As I said, He, Jay and Skrtel are the only ones who did ok.

I am not blaming him, I had money on Sunderland to win but I mean in terms of his effort and leading from the front which you need in games like that, he was a shadow of himself and for me it was down to his attitude.
The crowd looked like they were getting to him.

The whole club need to take a long hard look at themselves. We won the League Cup and that's enough? #-o
There was no endeavour, no drive, no urgency from the team in the first half. And the second half wasn't much better. Defensive orgranisation was mediocre and the final product was garbage. There was no support getting forward and no team chemistry despite technical performances being as good as ever.
I don't know what Kenny IS doing in his pre-match preparation, but it's obviously not enough.

The crowd looked like they were getting to him. He's never been at his best as a lone striker tbh. Should be playing with somebody else, whether it be Bellers, Carroll or Kuyt. There's a thread on LFC about who is indispensible for next season. People putting up lists of who they would not want to be sold. Some varying responses

If the manager was anyone but Dalglish your fans would be tearing shreds into him for the results this season.

I do believe it will improve though. And I'm not going to call for Kenny's head. How many times have people called for Wengers head this season? Look at Arsenal now. Teams have good and bad spells.

I do not watch too many Liverpool games so I must ask, how much would you put down to tactics, substitutions etc? I know some fans aren't happy that Carroll is continually played at the expense of the likes of Kuyt. I know right now that old Arry has some pressure after leaving Bale as a RM for 89 of 90 minutes. What do you think it will take for the pressure to well and truly get onto Kenny? Has the Carling Cup saved his head for this season?

Kenny is under no threat now, but if this form goes through to the end of the season, and we end up like 10th (which could still happen) then I think he will get sacked tbh.
I wouldn't put too much of it down to tactics. Like I said, v Arsenal we were excellent, against Sunderland we had more than enough quality on the park to do the business put people just didn't show up.
Kuyt was rubbish v Sunderland but he's usually good in the big games so I'd like to see him play v Everton. I want Andy to play too. I want him to play pretty much every game until the end of the season. If he fails when given 10 consecutive games, then I wouldn't care if we sold him.

I don't think fighting for a Europa League spot at best is befitting of the expectations of LFC. Not after the extent of investment in the first team that's been made. There are a lot of things wrong with the club, but greater ambition in the transfer market is definitely key to our fortunes over the next couple of seasons. Quote:There's a thread on LFC about who is indispensible for next season. People putting up lists of who they would not want to be sold. Some varying responses Nobody at the club should be considered indispensable. Ever. With the way the players are playing (tactically, as you say, we're quite sound) and their execution of the 'grand plan' if you will, there isn't a single player at the club who should think their job is 'safe'. Complacency has been our biggest nightmare for the last dozen seasons.

Ok, perhaps not 'indispensible' but there are at least a dozen players that I would be disappointed to see sold.

To be fair they got rid of the old dead wood and replaced it with new dead wood :D But I love how the money from the worst ever transfer purchase in history (Torres) was used to fund the second worst ever transfer purchase in history (Carroll).

The squad is in a far better place now than it was then. In fact, I wouldn't say theres much deadwood at all. There's only like 1-2 players that I actually want us to get rid of. People exaggerate everything, whether it is good form or bad. I'm not concerned with our squad, just our form.

We moved on the old dead wood, and replaced it with new, more expensive dead wood. Quote:you're the king of exaggerating Liverpool's good form. I want to appreciate it when it comes around :P I'm not denying it. I would definitely be upset if we sold any of: Pepe, Kelly, Johnson, Skrtel, Dagger, Coates, Enrique, Hendo, Gerrard, Shelvey, Lucas, Bellers, Suarez.

BusbyBabe wrote::lol: Such a different outlook compared to the start of the season, all the dead wood you got rid off and there is still plenty laying around. Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it. It hasn't worked out unfortunately, considering the many games we should have taken the points says we are not far off but the obvious imo is not banging in the many chances. Only having Suarez up front who is marked out and sadly off target for a while now and no one else has stepped up the plate to bang in a few, hello midfielders ! As we all know not many in the top 6 can survive with just 1striker (well barring Arse :d forget Carroll #-o ).... We can't survive with 1 striker - how many games we have lost creating twice the chances yet go down 1 or 1 - 2.... Hello cheq book 2 more strikers please surely you can see that LFC. Huh - remember start of the season we seemed to have bought up an army of midfielders - take Lucas out (big loss) none have really stepped up to the plate - we have scrambled and fought but no play maker. afro about right who to offload but this will be interesting to see what actually does eventuate. benelsmore re Kenny - I don't think he's made too many bad calls but 1 consistant playing Carroll more so than Bellers/Kuyt (but considering what they paid he's had to try and hope he delivers but  ) partnering Luis and I don't think it works at times having Luis as a lone striker for he is marked heavily so having a pairing would make the attack far more difficult for the opposition but in general Kenny has done what he can do its the cattle who hasn't done what they are paid for. Oh well roll on the Evertonians :d Edited by m.l.: 12/3/2012 10:26:58 AM
