Ideally Suarez will stay and cut the crap out of his game. It would be a shame to lose him.

I'd say most of them. As Imno pointed out, we don't have to buy a star player, we could find a few good players (such as we've done with Sturridge and Coutinho) for relatively cheap.

If we want to be in Europe, we need that "star" player. Especially with Gerrard reaching the end of his career. A team of squad players doesn't get the job done. That'll just take us back to Gerard Houllier days.

Muriel isn't a genuine option to 'replace' Suarez. One semi-decent season for Udinese doesn't mean he's a good player. You also have to consider whether having an extra 25m to spend reinforcing the squad is going to actually help us attract better players. I don't think it will.

What Suarez brings to the team and the lack of an obvious replacement being available means that selling isn't really an option.

FWIW here's my realistic ist of players I want Liverpool to sign this Summer.

Eriksen, Papadopolous, Ilori, & Atsu.

IMO if we can sign these 4 we'll have added not only depth, but more class. Eriksen & Papa will be some of the best in the world one day.

I cannot help but dream of Eriksen & Coutinho playing in behind Sturridge for years to come.. [-o<

Eriksen has a lot better clubs after him than Liverpool.

That doesn't mean that they'll make him the most appealing offer though.

I think if you've got to lose Suarez then Eriksen would be one of a handful of legitimate options to replace him.

Last time I heard, there were talks of PSG, Dortmund and of course United have been linked in the past. Would be an amazing signing for you guys though, I dont get how Isco can be so hyped up yet Eriksen has seemingly flown under the radar.

Because Isco is Spanish, duh. Plus Isco's playing in a better league. The only one of those teams where he'd get regular football at is Dortmund.

As nice as it would be to have Alonso back, that would leave us very attacking in midfield. You can't just drop Lucas because you like Alonso.

David Villa is a shadow of his former self. For a mid-table team with some cash to splash he'd be ok. But if we still harbour ambitions of finishing in the top 4 then there's not much point.

He could be a good signing for us. It seems like we're worrying too much about strikers and not the rest of the squad.

Benteke is strong he's proved that, 19 from 34 starts, had a great season for Villa, running off Countinho's slick ball work could be good !

Yeah, I googled him to see. He seems to be highly rated by Shakhtar but having never heard of him I'm not sure how to feel :lol: He doesn't strike me as the X-factor midfielder we're looking for.
