Not much to accept when you renege on your agreement with the club and trigger a release clause.

Swansea should have written a more iron clad contract with Liverpool then. Clearly Liverpool used the agreement to the most beneficial interpretation on their part and they're doing so again. There's no hypocrisy in that.

But when Arsenal try to get the "most beneficial interpretation" of a clause/contract, we lack "dignity" and "class" when your club, and specifically Rodgers himself has done the same. That why it hypocritical of Liverpool to call us out.

There's a difference between a player's agent (potentially illegally) disclosing a clause in a player's contract for another club to attempt to take advantage of, and a gentlemen's agreement between two clubs.

suprised he's still there, makes a mockery of one of the most prestigous clubs in world football, don's one of the most famous no 7 shirts in the world and then Liverpool still want him to stay even after all this whinging.

Can't look at Liverpool with the sort of respect I did a few years ago, when they didn't put up with grubs and were always about the club.

A written agreement does not constitute a contract clause. Contract law is complicated though.

He's looking good. But he and Sturridge aren't enough to lead the attack all season, we're going to need someone else. Someone more consistent than Fabio Borini.

Do you think Aspas will start against Stoke, with Sturridge only just returning to full fitness?

Sturridge has got the friendly with Celtic to get some game time under his belt before the Stoke match, but I'd expect Aspas to start and Sturridge to be on the bench.

Isn't too far from our starting lineup against Stoke I don't think. Henderson, ALberto, Sturridge on the bench.

when Sturridge is fully fit no doubt he'll replace Aspas, or Sterling comes to the bench and Aspas takes there role. Coutinho has been good but is better up the middle, althugh Allen has shown promise, so I'm really not sure what to do about that midfield.

I think once Sturridge is fit Aspas will drop into the hole where you've got Allen so that Coutinho, Sterling, Sturridge and Aspas can all rotate.

I can see Sterling, Ibe and Aspas being rotation players if Suarez ever wears the red again.

Can I just say it's fucking great having a proper squad with players fighting for positions again. Defense aside of course.

There's still time for us to add another defender. Hopefully we can wrap things up for Papa.

All the talk about Barca's interest in Agger is about to fall by the wayside. Barca are attempting to lure a defender to Nou Camp that Liverpool have been courting for a while now. This particular defender has been out with a knee injury for quite a few months but is on the comeback trail.

Barc's attitude must be, if you won't sell us Agger we will gazump you on defender you really need.

Yeah he actually did ok last season and had better stats than a few wingers who are way better than him according to most people. Getting rid of him though is important in our wage restructuring though. I think this is in reaction to FSG's terrible first season in terms of spending but in the long run it may help us.

It's good you got rid of him - he doesn't really fit the system you're trying to play and make you a bit asymmetrical. Most of your other wider players are inside forwards who like to run with the ball and come inside.

Very good of Liverpool to get rid of him but I thought you guys started to rate him.

He was an alright squad player - nothing more than that. And that's not worth 70-80k a week.

From most reports he is on similar wages to Downing but I can't find anything solid on them, probably 5-10k less per week but still very high
