Don't really want this transfer. I know Coates is now injured but I would rather give chances to Sama and Wisdom and how many chances will he get anyway with no Europe. In the league cup we have United where he probably wont get a chance there, we also have a good chance of going out in that game and I don't know how many rounds of the FA cup Rodgers will be playing youth players.

I know he is a CB/LB I think so isn't necessarily taking Wisdom's spot but Robinson is doing well on loan at Blackpool and we seems out before he has really been given a chance. If this does go through I hope Wisdom gets a EPL/Championship loan move.

Also 8mil is quite a bit and it will mean we have spent 15mil on him + Alberto both of which look like we won't really see them this season and you don't even know how they will come through after a season on the bench.

Looks like Moses, Ilori and Sakho are coming in. Stoked with that.

Moses is certainly an improvement on Downing and will be costing us much less. Ilori a good up and comer and Sakho is tank.

Great window

Great win, Liverpool were slow onto the ball in that second half but made up for it with solid defence. Provided there's an easy run with injuries/ suspensions, his season looks like it will deliver greater results than recent ones. I still think this side is a season away from resembling a serious title challenger. They have a few good, young players like Sterling and Sturridge who just need that little extra bit of experience to become consistent threats- although Sturridge has been fantastic of late!

There are only two intellectually honest debate tactics: (a) pointing out errors or omissions in your opponent’s facts, or (b) pointing out errors or omissions in your opponent’s logic. All other debate tactics are intellectually dishonest - John T. Reed

That was sheer breathtaking. Being in the Kop was the single greatest experience in my life to date in a football sense. So much energy, so much passion, so much atmosphere. Being that close to the pitch was amazing as well.

As for the game, it was fucking amazing! Top of the fucking league lads, top of the fucking league.

I'm not sold on Moses. I thought we had Alberto in to add depth as a "squad" player with flexibility. Hopefully Rodgers gets the best out of him (like he's doing with Sturridge) and we have an option to buy.

Ilori and Sakho make me excited. So much depth added down back this summer it's fantastic.

As for the result last night...I don't think we could be happier with going 9/9. Nobody would have expected that at the start of the season and especially not being solo on top of the table. Momentum is a powerful thing so hopefully it keeps building.

You lucky bugga ! :)
If there's any game through a season its this one at Anfield especially with the end result \:d/
The lads put in - Sturridge is surprising me every game with his smart play depending where on the pitch he is, holding ball releasing, I can't remember many times when he's lost the ball tbh. When we get Suarez back we are going to be pretty lethal with Countinho.
Midfield were dynamo's and we all thought having Skrtel back in CB next to Agger we were vulnarable, well played have to say.
Afro thats it confidence is a wonderful thing - we must back this up next game and onwards.
\:d/ =d> \:d/ =d>
Hello - princess Valencia :p
PS. nothing like keeping Moyes empty handed for now :)

I don't want the Moses deal unless there is an option to buy at the end. It is hard to say how good he will be after a season virtually just training but if we give him a full season of playing then give him back to Chelsea a much better player I will not be happy.

I honestly don't think he'll play that big a role for us. I never really rated him and it's kind of disappointing to see us go from being linked with Willian, Yarmolenko, Dzsudzsak and Turan over recent weeks to ending up with Moses.

Saw a heap of odds, they always do them for the first month of the season when the window is still open. You have to look at it, Stoke at home (have they ever got a point at a big club), Villa away and then the game you guys always lift for, 9 points was always a pretty good shout.

I think after Villa's start (win vs Arsenal, looked very good vs Chelsea) it is still great, the Stoke game and how we were playing would have seen us not score and concede that penalty in previous years and even if we lift for United the have a better squad.

Anyway how wasn't Man City favorites, Newcastle (H), Cardiff (A) and Hull (H) are much easier and they are meant to be top 3. I suppose bookies always drop Liverpool odds because of the massive Asian market that puts money on Liverpool even if the odds are terrible.

Come off Busby, nobody expected us to win 3 from 3.

Love this - Someone said that water covers 70% of Earth - Jordan Henderson covers the rest.

He was phenomenal last night. Close to MOTM alongside the two CBs and Sturridge. Johnson was excellent until he went off too - hope he's ok .

 not one of the journos during pre season reviews had us talked of being UP there above the so called top 4, more so competing with a question mark but nothing more nothing less.
City sure you could say a bit of tweaking here and there having the new gaffa more so and new players but manu should be business as usual more so imo - no signings that would upset the apple cart in first team choices, moyes start up choices have been questionable and subs but they are minor tbh - last nights last through ball to rvp could have been business as usual, splitting the points at the death but we have been due, it was going to come sooner or later give it the respect it deserves.

Pity for Johnson - one thing I liked he wasn't going to back off in the Evra tackle :)

Great to get the win and another clean sheet. Still some worrying signs there though, its like we can only play football for a half.

Not sure if this is a result of us pressing so much in the first 45 and being tired or whether it's from being in leading situations and giving pints away so many times last season that makes us a bit more conservative.

TBF to Moyes (and I'm sure this will get lost in the media/fan field day), United are notorious for slow starts to the season and have dropped plenty of early points in title winning seasons under Fergie. There was a lot of talk that 1/9 could have been a distinct possibility considering Swansea were at a more advanced stage of the season to us and the obvious difficulty with Chelsea and you guys.

All they guys were at the game last night have been confirmed. If the mosses deal does not have an option to buy I see it as a bad thing. Could have just kept Suso really if we are that short of wingers that we are going to strengthen out opposition to get one in. Last rumor is Yarmolenko but I doubt that with Mosses in and if we do get him we will have a net spend of about 35mil this window (18mil at the moment).

I personally think we have overspent on Alberto and Ilori. I don't like these 5-9mil 20 year olds over academy players. I know Sterling has come through but we have a bunch of 19-20 year olds and I don't believe they are absolute crap as when they play on loan they do alright.

Robinson has helped Blackpool to the top of the championship only conceding 2 goals. I think loaning him in the Championship and bringing in Cissokho on loan (possible 1m fee) is better than the 15mil on the others.

Suso is doing great in La liga with two assists and the 3rd highest average dribbles per game while being 56th in getting fouls (ie doesn't dive).

Adorjan scored in his first start before getting a very soft red (jumping for the ball arm swung and the opponent went down.

I am not saying these guys are ready for Liverpool starting spots but neither is Alberto or Ilori or Borini (off to Sunderland apparently). I would much rather see Joao Carlos Teixeira (20), Yesil (19) and Sama (20) on the bench than players that collectively cost us 26mil and whom I am unsure of being much better.

I was kind of expecting a late signing (Yarmolenko or Mata) to get the fans excited but that doesn't look like it's happening.

Sama has struggled to make the grade. Yesil needs to go out on loan. Teixeira was another player poached from Portugal, so there's nothing to say that Ilori, who is highly rated in Portugal isn't going to be a success. Alberto performed so well for Barca B last season that they wanted to make the move permanent. I think your criticisms are unfounded.

Alberto, Aspas, Toure, Mignolet, Cissokho, Sakho, Ilori, Moses. Good group of players to bring in.

Total net spend of only 17m and got rid of a lot of deadwood again. Very happy with the window.

In 2 games when Suarez is back he'll take Aspas' spot:

Sturridge
Coutinho - Suarez - Hendo
Gerrard - Lucas
Enrique - Agger - Sakho - Johnson
Mignolet

Incredibly harsh on Kolo. Almost more of a 433 but Hendo does stay on the right side of the pitch.

2nd XI

Aspas
Sterling - Moses - Ibe
Allen - Alberto
Cissokho - Ilori - Toure - Kelly
Jones

Nice.

^This. Man Utd have been known for their poor starts only to go on and win the title.

After three rounds Man Utd were positioned:
17th in 2007-08
9th in 2008-09 (and 15th after four rounds)
... and both of these were with Sir Alex in charge.

For this season you have to consider: the tough fixtures, a new manager, the departure of a CEO a new exceutive vice-chairman to replace him, poor dealings in the transfer window, and one of our best players being unsettled and transfer rumours about him constantly in the newspapers.

It's not as gloomy as some are making it out to be.

Tough start or not, you've been playing some horrid football.
