He's a top fighting c*unt and his goal should have been allowed :)
What an intense game that was - don't think it settled at all.
Poor little Alli kat lol, and lamela got shown very well.
Hats off to your back up keeper, done well.
We had you and should have taken the 3points but overall a good away result considering the many changes we have gone through :)

Mignolet great saves.
If only Couts effort went in early.
Mane is a beast :)
Hats off to Milner at LB.
Matip is going to settle in well me think. Love his height and read of the game.

Mane should have been sent off for two terrible tackles, both on Rose I think. The penalty seemed stone wall but contact appeared to be outside the box with Firminho tripping over his own foot inside the box.

What you guys have going for you in pace. That will get you places. You need a RB though as Milner is not the answer there.

We have not started very well and look slow and predictable.

Firmino only tripped over his own foot because of the contact from Lamela and because it happened inside the box even if the initial contact happened just outside the box it's a pen.

Agreed on Mane, no idea how he stayed on the park.

I'm always so confused about this rule. Countless times I've seen it ruled as a foul on the edge of the box because that's where the contact was made. Can't be too sore about conceding a penalty though, Liverpool thoroughly deserved to be 1-0 up at that point.

LFC NSW is pleased to present An Evening with Steve McMahon.
Steve is in Australia thanks to Dunbar Rovers FC and we are very appreciative that they have made Steve available to Reds supporters during the short time he is in the country.
Steve was LFC's midfield enforcer, signed by Kenny Dalglish in 1985 to replace Graeme Souness and when he left LFC in 1991 he had made over 200 appearances, scoring 29 goals and winning 3 League titles, 2 FA Cups and 5 Charity Shields.

You can meet Steve and hear him chat about his time during one of the most successful periods in the club's history on Thursday September 8th at 80 Proof, George St, Sydney.
Doors open at 7pm for a 730pm start. Tickets are only $20 each.
LFC NSW is donating any profits from this event to our nominated charity for this season - Heartbeat of Football.

If you watch the reply closely Lamela put him off balance as heading into the box then you'll see Lamela stride ahead and that forward step his boot just hit the heal of firminho just - then he went down.
Tbh it was in a attacking position into the box - pen right decision.

It's not given so many times though as the actual contact is outside. I'm not saying they didn't deserve it, just so inconsistent. Lamela stood on his heel on the edge, he tripped himself inside the box.

Pretty sure referees are advised to give a penalty if the foul continues into the box. If Lamela had pulled his shirt outside the box and let go and then Firmino dived into the box then that's a different story. But because Firmino tripping over his own feet was a direct result of the clip from Lamela it's deemed that the foul continued into the box.

yes mate agree, long time coming.
Klopp has certainly put a broom through it cleaning the slate so to speak.
Milner looks sound enough covering LB but its obvious he will be found wanting against quick attacking sides and top flight teams but I'm sure Klopp is looking or has aomeone on his mind till able to sign them up.
Fenway would be damn happy I hope regards to financials so hopefully they loosen up the purse for next window unless this possible investor cause's delay who knows.

Milner can defend but we're hurting having Coutinho and a right footed Milner as our farthest left sided options.... we just can't make use of the full width of the pitch imo and it causes some attacks to break down...

Regarding our transfer business... very happy with Mane. Lukewarm on Wijnaldum. Pleased with Karius, Klavan and Matip. And Glad we could offload balotelli and benteke.
Overall it wasn't a great window imo but in Mane and Karius we've definitely improved in two positions in our starting 11.

Yup Liverpool's getting a lot of shit in the media with a lot seemingly rating the window as a farce for not bringing in an LB or DM but when you look at how much dead wood has been cleared out had we got those 2 it would have been a perfect window. Overall it was a brillant window really with such a clearout.

Getting rid of players who weren't getting game time only qualifies as a good window from a business stand point.  I only care about the overall quality of the squad of 18 or so players that we play and outside of Mane and Karius we haven't improved imo. Klavan, Matip and Wijnaldum aren't really much of an improvement on Allen, Toure, Sakho and Skrtel imo.

A BBC sport survey of fans of all clubs and whether or not they are happy with each position in their squad showed only 7% of LFC fans are satisfied with our LB options... the lowest rating of any position of any team in the league... next closest was 28% satisfaction for Sunderland in GK...! That is a huge indictment of our summer business because Klopp wouldn't pay over the odds on Chillwell...

Thats all and good Harrison - we as supporters will never be satisfied how windows go unless we have the resource as per Chelsea united city etc and that we don't.
Klopps decision not over paying for a player is good and bad.
We shall see how this pans out but this win goes in his favour at this stage :) mind you I expected the Fox's to struggle but we cleaned them up christening the new stadium.

Some good lead work to the goals.
Kudos to Lucas, not match fit, fills in at CB, one huge error but overall sound performance.
Lallana finally hits one one venom on target - pearla strike.
Sturridge back heal sheer class.
Mane, his pace is beautiful - so far so good !
Hendo played really well.
Milner !
The brace boy bravo !

I'm not expecting us to sign the super star players that those clubs do but we should at least sign A player for the position that everyone knew going in to the summer was the main one to be addressed.

A negative net spend in a summer with a record new tv rights deal is a surprise and maybe means the owners put the money on the stadium redevelopment.... understandable to some degree but it would be disappointing to see us losing more games through Moreno brain farts knowing wet could have done something about it...

agree, I will vent frustration if we don't have a better LB + by Jan window.
Thats my head at this stage, he must have a mark or 2 for this period.
As much as I posted Milner ! this last game he will get caught out compared to a proper LB in some crucial games no doubt about it.
The only thing that could counter defense errors incl CB where I believe we need another capable reliable player with Matip is just as during the SS days we out score the one against - this could be the case at times I feel this season due to Klopps high pressing tactics.

Well bring on the bridge game.
Really curious how we perform on this one.
Seeing Lovren will be back.
Karius has had a full week of training but I doubt he'll be used in this one.
Mignolet is fine likely first choice.
Can just starting back training and won't be playing till following week.
So, I expect pretty similar line up from last week but for Lovren replacing Lucas.

Interesting game. Have to say i fancy chelsea based on how well they've started the season under conte and how well hazard and costa have been playing. I'm thinking chelsea 2-1 or 3-2. I'd like to see us give a good account of ourselves though.

Well, what can you say :)
Haven't seen any of the game as yet but what a way to wake up seeing the result !
Mr Klopps influence and the long off season seems to be paying off at this early difficult stage.
I really expected chelsea being too difficult to break down at home (even though we done them last season) and how they have been playing under Conte who I admire so much and expect them to be real contenders this season we sure are showing some spunk its looking.
Milner again has done the job at LB, no mean feet vsing them.
Listening to LFCTV earlier they are saying Matip is a beast at the back and has been a great addition. I agree from what I've seen to date.
Looking forward to watch the replay once on.

Absolutely imperious in the first half, Chelsea came back into the game in the second half and scored after a period of sustained pressure, but we then shut them out with no shots at goal from Chelsea in the final 30 minutes.
Hendo - what a hit son.
Matip and Lovren fantastic except for the goal with Matip sliding in unnecessarily in the lead up.

Great early start to the season (except for Burnley ffs), question is how long can we keep it up?

Well, another win this time in the EFL Cup defeating good ol Derby 3nil.
The Cout was back to his usual magic feeding a corner into the box where Klavan puts it away after bad defense not clearing.....
The mighty little brazillian then runs through for a one on one with their keeper nice ball from Firmiho.
Again Cout in the feed for Origi putting in a beauty from right side of the box over the keeper.
Klopp made 7 changes to the run on squad from the chelsea win.
Full debuts for Klarius and Grujic which is great.
Next focus is Hull at home.

Spanking game last night. Up 4-1 and still going hard for more. That is exactly the sort of cutting edge we need and that we've lacked for years... if we can bring that same intensity against other lower ladder teams i think we can genuinely improve on last year.

here here, what a swarming snuffing out of the opposition.
The stats are great obviously.
Such early days but games like Hull normally have been nail biters and or dropped points - if we can maintain this type of intensity and finish its the groundings of a top season.

Have to say the Swans played veryvery well despite their table standing.
Some very good football by them putting us under the pump and really glad how we dug in and grafted the result.
So early at this stage in the comp we normally would have come out of this with a nail biting draw or close loss.
Hendo is working really hard and improving imo.
Good possession creating chances and 18shots at goal x 6 on target.
Were still a bit messy at the back and we will pay at some stage.
Soft goal let in.
Good away win taking 3points.
Huge one coming up next at home !
