He got a bit of a run last night. He wants to be a striker, so he has to understand he is behind Torres, Kuyt and Ngog in the pecking order.

Ngog or Babel, hmmm :-k on this season you'd say Ngog but you know theres a good footballer somewhere in babel

We played a great game, were robbed of a clear penalty, and had a lot of little things go against us like Carragher's injury. We're in real trouble now that Carragher is out injured for three months. I'd like to see Agger given a decent chance by Hodgson now.

I thought Agger was injured?
In any case i agree that it was a fantastic performance against Spurs. We seemed to have lots of forward momentum and we played some nice attacking football. It really should have been 2-2 at the very least, Maxi should have converted that one-on-one. Whatever happened to Milan Jovanovic? I'd like to see him be given a chance. He's played like what, one game or so for us?
I really hope we buy a striker during Jan.

Quote:I thought Agger was injured? Yeah, he got injured in training though, he hasn't been playing. Quote:It really should have been 2-2 at the very least, Maxi should have converted that one-on-one. Whatever happened to Milan Jovanovic? I'd like to see him be given a chance. He's played like what, one game or so for us? Maxi and Torres both missed chances that they really should have converted, we also had penalties turned down for blatant fouls on both of said players. So it really should have been 5-2 if we'd taken out chances. But it was not to be. Milan Jovanovic has had 4 starts and three apps as a sub, playing around 360 minutes so far. Quote:please get kuyt off the wing can't cross for shit from what i seen in the replay last night. Kuyt's main asset is that he plays great overlap with Johnson, sometimes I think we'd be better served playing them the other way around on the right. Kuyt is a decent winger, but his role is to cut inside more than it is to cross the ball in. There's no point playing the cross when there's nobody's head to connect it with anyway.

i think there was about 10+ times when torres was in the box waiting for a DECENT cross from kuyt only to have him scoff it out or behind him or into a defender.

Hopefully he plays Kuyt up front with Torres with Maxi and Cole on the wings, and Lucas and Meireles in the middle.

Good result, great performances from Maxi and Meireles this morning, also congratulations to Fernando on the birth of his son, Leo - a future Liverpool legend no doubt.

He's behind Kuyt, Torres and N'Gog as a striking option, so I don't think he deserves more first team action.
Big congrats to Pepe. 100 cleansheets in <200 games. Absolutely superb. Only Cech has a better ratio. And we've been through turbulent times too. Hero Pepe. If he leaves I'll be gutted.
When Gerrard comes back:
-----------Torres---------- Cole------Gerrard----Kuyt -----Meireles---Lucas----- Kon--Skrtel--Carra--GJ ------------Pepe

The Doctor wrote:thought's on Babel's performance, i was happy and thought it warranted more first team football It was a decent performance, but once every fifteen games isn't often enough to warrant a first team spot, he needs to show he can play like that more consistently. His touch was pretty average too. Quote:When Gerrard comes back:

Yeah... it's a tough one. I'm pretty confident in saying that Meireles, Lucas and Maxi all speaking the same language is having an effect. They are finding it very easy to communicate with each other on the field. I don't want to drop Maxi, but I think Roy will do that.

Twas thinking of Aurelio. I knew there was 3 who did
But I know what you mean, it would be harsh to drop Maxi now

Dropping maxi would be a huge mistake. He's struggled for form and now that he's found it dropping him is something Rafa would do...

There's no way Cole can start atm given the form of the players around him.

Lucas is playing very very well at the moment. As is Maxi. Dropping them would be a massive mistake.

I hope that's not how we're going to defend without carragher for the next two-three months. That was terrible.

I guess that result's no surprise given Liverpool's ridiculously bad away form.

You guys were always going to be a good chance with Nolan and Barton back though. The new manager effect is always there as well. Plus your home form before last night was still better than their away form:lol:

We're struggling away from home, No Carragher or Gerrard doesn't help. Newcastle with the new-manager factor. Things were going more their way than expected. Martin Skrtel was made to look very ordinairy by Carroll. We need to find a better center half than him.
