I don't see any reputable sources for that. The quote in question was in Marca. Nuff said.
I'm more interested in Benitez's claims that he could have got 70m for Torres.

Selling him at that time would have given us a much wider variety of options for a replacement too.
But that's not what Benitez was talking about. He said Liverpool should have asked for more from chelsea.

I still like Coentrao. Perhaps Turan? Marin would be a fantastic option, he's young skillful and can play both wide areas and centrally very well. But I can't see Bremen parting with him, it's been a very poor season and they'll want to hold on for him for next season. I can't see him leaving bremen for anything under 15 million.

The biggest problem with Marin is that he has very limited national team experience so he's highly unproven outside of the Bundesliga.
Bremen have had a very average season, but perhaps it's time to rebuild for them instead of tying down a player who should be winning trophies.

Solution to Torres jersey dilemma: http://i51.twitgoo.com/2nl8d3c.jpg:lol: "Look lads, I'm Fernando "ohhh my hamstring!"" Looking forward to the game tomorrow... hope Suarez starts. --------Suarez-----Kuyt-------- ----Gerrard---Lucas---Raul---- Johnson-------------------Kelly -----Agger--Carra--Skrtel------ --------------Pepe------------- What I can see happening. lol at both pics.
That's a very defensive line-up, but probably the way to go in terms of controlling what coule be a very attaking side.

Back 3 gets exploited eventually, I think this shows we need a genuine star winger in the Summer.

We need a genuine winger and a genuine CB. But that's for worrying about then. Not now.

Are you playing them as wingbacks or fullbacks? They could be instructed to do either. Both of them forward at the same time is dangerous, but the centre halfs become pivots for them getting forward. I'm looking more toward flat back four. Offside trap would be very useful against Torres, Drogba, Anelka, together with good old fashioned muscle to keep Torres off the ball. Frustrate him. That happens easily.

I think Agger could well do Torres' head in if he gets physical early on. Watchi him slip out of the game.

That's purely a speculative XI though.
Interesting to note at the bottom there that Liverpool haven't scored at the bridge in the league since 2004.

I'd just like to thank Liverpool Football club for that win this morning. Makes our result this weekend not so bad in the end.

Yeah it's only been good for Man City but everyone's got a game in hand on them so they don't really matter.

Only 6 points from 4th now. We can do it lads. Games against Wigan and West Ham next... if we can win both of those and make it 6 on the bounce, Chelseas next two games are away to Fulham and against Man U... I could see them definitely dropping points there, and lets hope Spurs does too!

Even with 11 players out we're still doing well, Jenas has been immense in Modric's absense. Catch us if you can Reds.
