I'll personally pay for the plane tickets for Soto and Spearing to go to new clubs.
The injuries to Johnson and Agger have shown just how little depth we have down back. Kyrgiakos is terrible and we've got a ridiculous injury list. Aurelio, Kelly, Agger, Johnson...is there any chance we can recall Insua from Galatasaray? He's only sitting on the bench there.

BusbyBabe wrote:I have been pissing myself laughing watching Reina's foul and hearing Afro say he won the ball. If you are a man of your word..you are done watching football. Penalty every day of the week, man up and admit it. I think 'penalty every day of the week' is a bit far, Odemwingie was very theatrical about it... but Pepe never got anywhere near the ball. I'd say 7 times out of 10 it's a pen, so I cant complain about it being given. Was just very depressing to lose to two penalties.

If Reina didn't get anything on it, Odemwingie wouldn't have lost control of the ball and wouldn't have hit the turf.

Quote:Roy Hodgson was given an astonishing £7.3million pay-off by Liverpool after his six month reign at Anfield.
The manager may not feel he had a chance to shine with Kenny Dalglish in the background, but he was compensated handsomely.
When Fenway Sports Group bought Liverpool in October they were reluctant to look for a new manager and the pay-off Hodgson was due must have come into their thinking.
The golden goodbye means Hodgson earned £8.8m in total during his time at the club, which works out at £45,833 for each of the 192 days he was in charge. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1372782/Roy-Hodgson-paid-7-3m-Liverpool-exit.html45k per day. Nice work if you can get .

The standard level of quotes or references for a daily there, imno: 0. 11.mvfc.11 wrote:Odemwingie touched the ball away and drew the foul. No doubt he was not going to score and played for the pen, but he did it successfully and in the rules, ie no dive. In most other sports you're penalised for that. We see players penalised for that in football all the time. To make matters worse, Aitkenmike is one of the users on here who still arks up about the penalty in '06 v Italy...but this was a black and white pen? It's the role of the referee to protect the keeper's right to go for the ball, and if he catches the man yeah sure, penalty. But if the man catches him that's never a penalty and to give it thus is a complete load of bollocks.

But he did catch the man. His leg came through and tripped up Odemwingie. Keeper goes for the ball, misses, and hits the player, who goes down because of it. That's a penalty every day of the week. Hell, if this was roles reversed, you'd be screaming blue murder if it hadn't been payed.

If Afro honestly believes himself, I feel sorry for him, I really do. Just lowers my opinion of Liverpool fans even more.

I don't really know the rivalry here but back over there, I didn't have much time for City fans or Liverpool fans. Just don't see eye to eye on anything. So therefore, I dislike them.

Something has to trigger it. You just don't not like someone becuase of the colour shirt they are wearing. I bet you hate certain players...we all do. Why don't you like them? I am guessing it is something they have done or said...

If I was on the other end of that decision and it wasn't paid I'd be disappointed but I'd understand that the keeper is entitled to play the ball, which is exactly what he did. Let me ask you this: If a corner comes in, and the keeper comes out for the ball, misses the ball and crashes into a defender, is that a penalty as well? Becuase I've never seen that given.

If he doesn't collect the ball and crashes into an attacker (I assume you mean this rather than a defender) who has brought the ball down on his chest (as we are talking about a player in possession of the ball) or a player who is about to head the ball into the net, then yes, that would be a penalty.
I just don't see how you can not see that the 2nd penalty was a clear penalty. The keeper has come out, he has missed the ball, his legs have collected the striker, who has gone down. I don't understand why this wouldn't be a penalty.

Odemwingie wasn't in possession of the ball though, he'd a) lost control of the ball, and b) didn't have a clear scoring opportunity.

Where the fuck does it stipulate that? I guess we'd better tell all the players that you have to pick up the ball to win it back. What the fuck is this, rugby?

Exageration for effect. He got as close to picking the ball up as he did to kicking it. Not that you have even been able to admit that yet.

Exaggeration for effect? Well why don't you completely exaggerate the truth and claim that Reina punched Odemwingie in the face?

Because then you would be saying Odemwingie's face got in the way of Reina's hand.

Yeah, beucase clearly peoples inability to understand context is the problem here. You use an irrelevany hyperbole as your contention and think it makes sense. And then someone brings up something completely fucking irrelevant. Of course you 'win' the argument.
