Linked with Rodwell now. Weird.
Downing, Adam and Wickham apparently all going to be coming in about a week.

sydneycroatia58 wrote::lol: anyone who signs Downing is crazy. Fixed. Downing's a waste of money and doesn't bring anything to the team. Bring in Mata if you want a left-sided player. Wickham and Adam I'm happy with, but only if they wrap it up sharpish, no more of this back-and-forth in the media tripe. We'll have to wrap up Zapata in the next week or so, or we'll be waiting until well into August to do a deal for him.

I can't say I'm into the idea of signing an Everton player. I don't consider the rivalry to be vicious, but I don't like the idea of an Everton player in a red jersey.
(now someone mentions Carragher #-o)

(now someone mentions Carragher #-o) Carragher was never an Everton player though. He has been at Liverpool for over twenty years. It's really irrelevant.

It's really irrelevant. Yeah, Carragher is irrelevant. 21 years at Anfield pretty much precludes him from being considered Evertonian. As you say, he never turned out for them. But of course some muppet has to post that picture  It's as inevitable as Guest looking for arguments, or seriously posting something stupid.

Owen and Fowler were Everton supporters in their youth.

It would be unusual for it to be a part of the Mata deal and be played AT anfield.

But is it just a coincidence? I doubt it.

Torres joined us in 07, we played the Atletico friendly in 09, but that too was at Anfield. imno wrote:But is it just a coincidence? I doubt it. I'm not sure. It just seems odd to play at anfield when Mestalla is 55k capacity...

Many sources have linked us with him. There is definitely something going on, but whether he ends up here or not - I don't know.

KD mentioned him in an interview a few months back and skysports kind of ran with it. I don't know if there has been any offer tabled. My sources around anfield have gone a bit quiet lately and EOTK is on holiday so the transfer rumours are a bit quiet.

Hey lads I know a lot of you don't like spamming, however I would love if you all joined my new LFC Group! It's not an illiterate filled peoples group, there's plenty of wordy discussions on the latest rumours, lineups etc. http://www.facebook.com/pages/LFC-Transfer-Talk/230698110274330There are 4 admins in different corners of the globe, meaning rumours/news at different times of the day! Respect to Sunderland fans: http://www.facebook.com/pages/SAFC-want-justice-for-the-96/155823741154661?sk=wallNewcastle and Chelsea have done the same now. Very nice gesture. JFT96. Also: GAEL CLICHY is ready to rebuff interest from Roma in an attempt to force Arsenal into letting him join Premier League rivals Liverpool. Serie A side Roma are preparing to trump Liverpool’s opening bid of £5million for France defender Clichy, but he favours a move to Anfield. His stance leaves Arsenal in a difficult position having let the left-back’s contract run down to within 12 months of its expiry. Arsene Wenger ideally wants to sell abroad, but is eyeing Newcastle’s Jose Enrique as a possible replacement for Clichy and could reluctantly do business with Liverpool, who are also trying to secure the services of teenage striker Connor Wickham from Ipswich. Liverpool will have to match Sunderland’s opening £9m offer, but Sunderland’s deal rises to £11.5m depending on the player’s progress and Ipswich owner Marcus Evans is adamant England Under-21 international Wickham will not be sold for less just because he prefers a switch to Merseyside.

We can move for players overseas now, but they can't join the club until July 1st. I don't think that's an issue with the number of players competing at the Copa America.
