Just scanning the internet last night, there seem to be less free cricket articles available than a few years back.

One has to subscribe to the Australian and Fox Sports.

Sportal didn't have much.

Fairfax had a bit in The Age and SMH.

Cricinfo seems to have less than a few years ago.

The Aus Guardian doesn't have much on Oz cricket.

When The Ashes were on we had access to the English cricket media, which was good. The had The Observer, Guardian, Times, Independent, Daily Telegraph.

If anyone has any cut and paste articles of interest, it would be good to see them on here.

Agreed.

I've noticed this more and more and have therefore stopped reading many articles on cricket.

So keen for this to start. Could be one of the biggest moments in cricket history if the ball holds up.

Also this will be the best test of the summer, if for no other reason than the crowd and atmosphere. The first two tests were mainly lifeless, and I can't imagine any of the Windies tests being any better. Adelaide was the perfect choice of location for the first day night test imo

Missed that marsh was selected
surely his continued selection when he is average at 1st class and test level is a case of blatant nepotism given rod marsh is the chairman of selectors (im guessing they are related)
dont get me wrong hope he gets a ton but its frustrating to see him selected
would have gone for lynne personally if fit

I have real concerns about the visibility of the ball once it ages a bit.

If this doesnt work i think we'll have to bite the bullet and play in coloured pyjamas and just use the white ball

Shaun and Mitchell Marsh are the sons of former test cricketer Geoff Marsh, who is still heavily involved in WA cricket. There is certainly some favouritism.

The thing that annoys me is that they always have an excuse why Shaun Marsh doesn't have a better average. First it was a bad attitude, then it was an injury, then it was a minor technique problem that he has apparently fixed. And now they keep saying "oh his average has been great over the past two years".

If they had used the same excuses for Phil Hughes, he would never have been dropped.

Shaun Marsh still has a horrible technique, he still pushes out in front of his body, he still nicks every half decent swing bowler to second slip, and he still gets out way too often on a score below ten. For a 32 year old it's not good enough. The fact they have given him so many chances must piss off every other hard working batsman in Australia.

are best chance is to get a decent 1st innings lead

Shaun and Mitch Marsh are Geoff Marsh's sons. So there is a family relationship within cricket.
Rod Marsh's son Daniel played for SA briefly before having a long career for Tasmania.

Brilliant from warner
gets a nice quick single which turns into an overthrow so he finds a quick single the following ball with soft hands. The change in strike draws the loose deliveries

australias combination of aggressive strokes with soft handed singles has already drawn looser bowling from an initially very good nz attack

I am not liking the day night format for test matches. I find the effect of batting up lights to be too be having too much of an impact on the game. Cricket will lose me as a follower if these continue, just like I am not a supporter of one day matches and 20/20. These are already have a detrimental impact on the quality of test cricket and day night tests are just another blow.
