i know its a bit off topic in a sense, but anyone watch One Tree Hill.

every single episode in that show is named after a song or album. the show also has a strong music influence and quite a few of the songs ive downloaded ive heard on there. its not all love stuff and the usual same old bands, its new ones and some pretty good songs...

I dont watch it, but I have about 10 songs on my computer from the series. Favourite would no doubt be Bad Habits - Michael Tolcher...great song.

May as well say "Everybody wanks on and on and on about early Metallica. I don't see what's so great about them. If you wanted that just listen to Motorhead." or a million other examples. First time Ive mentioned Tom Waits. Hardly wanking on and on and on. I dont think he has had a top 50 album in his life. Nor have I noticed anyone mention him in the forum before. So thats hardly everybody.

I find it highly amusing that someone that studies music compared Tom Waits to Louis Armstrong.

Adam Ant makes a comeback

ADAM Ant is dusting down his outlandish outfits and preparing to make a spectacular pop comeback.

The self-proclaimed Dandy Highwayman, who was rarely out of the charts in the early Eighties with hits such as Stand And Deliver, is set to announce a new album and tour. It will mark a major turnaround in his life.

Since slipping out of the Top Ten, Adam – real name Stuart Goddard – has fought depression.

In 2002, he threatened drinkers at a North London pub with an imitation pistol, but escaped a jail term on the grounds of mental illness.

Now he says he has learned to live with his condition, and will hit the road again for the sake of his 12-year-old daughter Lily, his only child and his ‘reason for living’.

‘She has never seen Adam perform and doesn’t know what The Ants were all about,’ says Goddard, 55.

‘I’ve had this lifelong battle against manic depression, but I’ve had to overcome it for her sake. Times got bad. I lost my mind. But I’m back.’

He says his problems began when he got married – ‘too young’ – at 21. ‘I tried to commit suicide with an overdose,’ he admits.

‘After I broke up the band, I went to America to try to make it there, and a crazy woman started stalking me. That sent me over the edge again, and I did time in a Miami psychiatric clinic.’

Now he looks slim and healthy, unlike the bloated figure who was given a 12-month community rehabilitation order for the pub incident.

‘I’m back to the gym, eating right. I’ve never felt better,’ he said. ‘I won’t ever let myself get depressed again, because I’ve got to be around to bring Lily up.

'It is no exaggeration to say she has saved my life. I want to show her what her dad the musician is all about.’
