afromanGT wrote: I wouldn't have said it was 'poppier'...For Those Who Have Heart was poppy. I thought it was heavier than we'd previously heard. Very driven bass line, more dirty vocals - though the lyrics were more pop-stylised.
2nd Sucks is the only predominantly heavy song. Sticks & Bricks and You Be Tails, I'll Be Sonic are the only other songs that really contain any heavier parts. There's less Dirty Vocals than Homesick and For Those Who Have Heart for sure. I've heard a few people compare the sound to New Found Glory, and I can see where they're coming from. It's Heavier than NFG's Pop-Punk style, but no overly, and certainly a step back from the heavy ADTR have done before. Like I said, there's nothing wrong with it, but that's the way I, and pretty much every review I've read, see's it.

I think I definitely got caught up in the heaver bass riff. A lot of bands have been doing it this year. Glassjaw, Deftones, ADTR...I've been enjoying it.

Yeah. I mean there's heavy moments, but it's more sort of Heavy in Pop-Punk/Punk terms, not Heavy in Hardcore terms.
I can see why people are dissapointed in it, it's very much just an ADTR record IMO, nothing new to the table.

I never really thought of them as a hardcore band anyway. It's an acentric ADTR album, there's nothing really 'not ADTR' about it.

Pretty sure its been confirmed they won't be.

Thats a double whammy. Never seen them before, but have heard they're very theatrical and entertaining. Not sure they could pull off their regular stuff at a BDO.

Finally got around to cleaning all the shit off my ipod today and updated it with heaps of new stuff

BoT are pretty shit too. Fixed for accuracy. They've got a few good songs, but nothing worth getting upset about. They're always touring the aussie circuit anyway so you'll be able to see them at least half a dozen times in the next few years anyway.

ADTR - A Plot to Bomb the Panhandle
Going back to this album after Afro mentioned it earlier, and gotta say, they don't make it like this anymore. By far their best IMO. Would love to see it live in full, would be incredible.

Watching the video from that track...the frontman has an affinity for penis huh?
It's true that there's nothing like that on their current album, but it still has all the accentric halmarks of ADTR.

I prefer his vocals from FTWHH. And their was just more rawness to the production. Sounded dirtier and more like a band you know from your neighbours garage than a huge band.

If you want the raw garage sound, listen to And Their Name Was Treason - the production quality is fucking terrible.

Still haven't got around to listening to the album yet. Thanks very much U Torrent. My mate can't stop ranting about it.

though shalt not post anything that relates to x-factor or idol in the music thread, it's an unwritten law. Expect a backlash sanga, possibly a ban, you've broken the cardinal sin of this thread.

My favourite at the artist would have to be Horrorshow, seriously after seeing them live at sydney's triple j ausmusic month party, got the albums yesterday and have not stopped listening to them. Particularly this song:
