Couple of sick tracks I know well.

Fuck Linkin Park. Every track has some emo theme to it.

I'm a Trance nut, love my Greek and don't mind a bit of rock every now and again. I used to love rap but it lost it's gangsta touch and haven't listened to it in ages.

You Am I - Purple Sneakers

One of Australia's top bands. Listening to this song because I was waiting to pick up my luggage at the Airport today, and standing 2 feet to my right was Tim Rogers.

If drinking yourself into oblivion counts as a disease, sure:p. But nah, I'm not sure.

Coolest airport sighting I have is when I was flying back from Sydney after seeing Avenged Sevenfold. Looked up mid-flight, and saw the bands drummer walking past me. Turns out they were all on the same flight as me. All looked hungover as hell too:p...shattered I didn't have a pen/anything for them to sign.

Oh...well taht says it all, you realyl have never heard Linkin Park. You think the epitomy of music is a doofy bass line and a couple of synths played by a monkey on acid.
[quote]Coolest airport sighting I have is when I was flying back from Sydney after seeing Avenged Sevenfold.

Coolest thing i've seen at their airport would ahve to be my AFL team being there...that or Scribe jettign back into NZ back when I was over there years ago and he was actually good.

I actually had a listen to part two of the alchemy index (Air & earth) under Nico's recommendation and it wasn't bad. The Sky Is Falling is a pretty mad track.

Completely agree. Fair play to them, its nice to try something different, and they didn't do it half bad, but it's still not a patch on some of their older albums.

Unearth - My Will Be Done

New album is pretty sweet. Nothing new, but Unearth are one of those bands who know what they do, and do it damn well.

Dillinger for me. Their live show is a sight to behold, and they write some really awesome music as well. Converge are still pretty good, a band I need to get into more.

Just when I got Miley Cyrus out of my head, this starts up:

"Yooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu...............
Your sex is on fIIIIiiiire...."

THIS is why I don't like listening to the radio.

My Exam music (very, very important) - The Truth - Bleeding Through. Wakes you up, sounds good. Its tops :P.

When will Triple J stop playing "I Will Never Love You More". It was interesting the first time I heard, now its becoming insanely irritating

Their older stuff is ok. But the alchemy indexes had a much more mature sound to it. I liked Fire & Water a lot.

Dillinger are superior.

Is it bad taht I have no idea which song Marty is talking about?? I don't listen to the radio at all.

Sing - Dope.
The Mesenger - Thrice.
Die Motherfucker Die - Dope.

No, that honour would fall to Mutter by Rammstein IMO.

From a mastering point of view, (the only way we can take a very unbiased sample) the best album ever released is Battle of Los Angeles by Rage Against The Machine. The dynamics, EQ, Reverb, everything are fucking perfect.

I haven't heard all of Jane Doe, but it has a big sound, it has very little dynamics. Battle of LA is commonly considered the greatest album technically, ever.

Really? I thought that to begin with, then I went through some In Flames songs and realised their musical diversity as well as their quality. "Pinball Map" and "Come Clarity" make it a hard decision for me. I prefer the melodies of Soilwork, but when the fast and hard parts kick in, I think In Flames take the cake. Really upset I didn't see Soilwork when they came out, I only started really really listening to them after it.

Tough choice IMO. Go and watch Soilwork coz In Flames' side-show is cheaper. I'd rather see In Flames personally though.

In Flames have completely lost touch however, which is why I put Soilwork on top. Both the bands older material is fairly even, with possibly In Flames ahead, but when you take their recent material in to account, it puts Soilwork light years ahead. In Flames have turned into a Mediocre Metalcore band, with a fairly poor vocalist, while Soilwork's last few albums have still been fairly solid, if un-spectacular Melodic Death Metal, with some stand out songs. Plus I've heard from many people that In Flames are decidedly average live, while Soilworks gig earlier this year was one of the best I've been to.

The sooner In Flames stop shitting on their legacy the better.

Fair analysis I suppose. Wasn't really listening to either genre even a few years ago. Although from listening now, IMO, Stabbing The Drama is as good as Natural Born Chaos. They are probably my favourite two Soilwork albums.

That's still a pretty blunt assessment of In Flames' recent performances. Can't say it's not entirely unfounded though.

I've been getting ito a bit of Muse. I couldn't really understand all the hype around them initially. I can sort of get it now. I don't agree with it tbh, their vocalist breathing in shits me to no end...it's a terrible technique. But I dont' mind them now. (I think I'm expanding my horizons)
