Chris Martin. I think he spent the first few months of his live in South Africa or Zimbabwe or something like that. Should be shot for calling his kid Apple. Speed of Sound isn't that good a song. Coldplay in general are pretty chillout, I prefer post-rock for taht kinda stuff...something like Mogwai. Or something ambient like Atrium Carceri.

Colplday are awesome. Scientest, Speed Of Sound, Talk, Fix You, The Hardest Part, Dont Panic, Square One are just some of the great songs this band produces. I hear a rumour thought that the lead singer, cant remember his name, is originally from Africa.

They censored a couple of tracks. Because Of Me was one and I think they cut an entire verse out of I'm The ONe for being too graphic in describing the sexual assault of the girl in the song.
The record company shouldnt' be allowed to do this, but they can't exactly just leave when they're on a contract.

Even Shihad went to Pacifier to avoid similar issues though. I suppose its a pity they can't express themselves the way they want too, though it shouldn't really affect their music.

They were called "Sarin Gas" until the record company made them change it after the attacks on the Tokyo subway. I've never heard any of their work under that name, that's why I was asking...to see if anybody had.
And Karma and Effect was meant to be called something else and the cover was meant to be a strung-up corpse, the record company wouldn't let them use it.

Jack Johnson isn't that special and I can't say i've liked his stuff much at all. Alter Bridge are ok, but they've still got that shit under their noses from being Crreed really.

Coldplay new single out. Sounds ok, not the classic i was expecting. Not bad though, hope the album doesnt dissapoint.

Just listened to Sleep Through The Static and If I Had Eyes.... yeah sounds a bit different to his previous work... still typical JJ though ;) Will buy it next time i'm at JB.

What's the album called? I haven't heard any of his latest songs yet. Recommend any to look up on youtube?

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing came on the radio at work last week, and I was singing along with it, and one of my workmates asked me who sung the song, and I told him it was Jack, and he just stared at me blankly and says: "Who?" I could have hit him over the head, I swear... :lol:

He knows who JJ is. He's just living up to his reputation of 'resident tool'.

Jack Johnson, former pro' Surfer who sings all those acoustic tunes, and does a lot of work with Ben Harper...

I'd recommend any Alter Bridge song, too. They have three ex-members of Creed, but don't really sound like it at all, a pretty decent band.

Yeah, they were typical slower songs from a rock band. I prefer actual acoustic bands/singers like City and Colour, Dustin Kensrue and Iron and Wine. They have more of a folk feel to them.

The band is rock, but not those two songs, they closet to acoustic than anything. Seether are awesome no doubt. South Africa has produced some great band but their albums are sooo hard to get hold of over here. Ever heard of Watershed, Niemand, The Parlatones, Trees 63, Just Jinger.

That stuff was hardly acoustic zimbos, closer to hard rock... it was good nonetheless, although they don't compare to Seether if were talking about S.African bands.
