enlgnad right on top this morning at 0/82. Siddle, Hilfenhaus, Watson and Johnson all bowled a few overs without looking too threatening.
Xavier Doherty just coming on though...

Johnson drops Strauss at mid-on off Doherty. Pretty regulation catch, much needed wicket.
Straus is on 72 now, looking really good.

Alistair Cook makes his half century,
ENG 0/134- Cook 51* and Strauss 78*
North and Doherty operating at each end.

Lunchtime, I was delighted when that prick Johnson dropped that catch. Strauss looking fantastic, Cook backing him up well.

Cook is the man. That is all in regards to cricket as I do not wish to speak of the NZ game right now
Anyone catch the All Blacks game this morning? I'm pretty biased but the referee was crooked beyond doubt. Funny thing is that we were still superior.

Nah, missed it. Watched the Wallabies instead, tremendous win. However, our scrum is in desperate need of some help. Its all good playing running, attractive rugby but you have to do the hard yards as well.

So i come home and turn on the cricket, Tony Greig is talking about Mangoes, Michael Slater is talking about the Adelaide test already and the scorecards from the first innings are up. It must have been a really shit day for the aussies.

So end of day 4, umpires called bad light. 1st test will most likely end as a draw

So many big performances this match, four centuries, two six wicket hauls and one hat-trick.

A draw is the only result I can see here because England won't declare tomorrow. The only way well get a result is if Australia picks up 9 unbelievably quick wickets tomorrow.

They will just bat for as long as they can. They'd rather draw the first test than give twmselves a chance to lose.

So your saying if England declared at say 4/5pm there would be a chance the aussies would get 300-400 plus in a few hours? they will declare later on today and australia just needs to block it out for a few hours,

told you SC they would declare now gives there bowlers something to bowl at, enough time for them to try and knock over our batters

So England declare leaving Australia chasing 297 off 41 overs.

About right by Englang IMO. Australia have to bat, and the only thing they can do, is not lose wickets. They don't realistically have a chance to win, so they just have to survive, and England can just attack and have a good session in the field.
