Yes, they could. Heres some more (Im a weirdo though) Funkadelic Joy Division R.E.M. Neil Young Genesis (Peter Gabriel) Blondie Talking Heads Stevie Wonder Tina Turner Captain Beefheart Damon Albarn And these solo acts that passed into that great concert in the sky: David Bowie (particularly with Mick Ronson on guitar) and Prince EDIT For what its worth, there is no one band identity - not in the downloading age, Radiohead is a group which is reminiscent of the time of R.E.M, Depeche Mode, U2 and Blur but music moves and changes. This is rock'n'roll/metal/psychedelic music that just doesn't give you a moments rest.

Does anyone here collect vinyl? Apart from a turntable and speakers, what else do I need to purchase to start listening to vinyl?

I think we can all agree that Daft Punk is the greatest EDM duo of all time.

Found The Velvet Underground & Nico on my computer, forgot I had it on there (bought it on CD a couple years ago). It's still shit.

Yes, they could. Easily! Radiohead have released 9 albums - three are widely considered to be all time masterpieces (the Bends, OKC, Kid A), all of them radically reinvented their sound. Another four are close to being masterpieces (Amnesiac, In Rainbows, HTTT, A Moon Shaped Pool), and only two of them aren't that great (King of Limbs, Pablo Honey). It's one of the greatest musical streaks of all time.

EDM is a blanket term for all types of electronic music. So all of dubstep, d&b, house, techno, trance, hardstyle etc fit into it.

Apart from a turntable and speakers, what else do I need to purchase to start listening to vinyl? Nothing, just connect it all up and you're good to go. Depends. You will need an amp most likely to plug that turntable into. Often with a phono connection but if the turntable has a preamp it can just be RCA cables. Though you can even get USB ones these days aha Some purists may have a problem with them but I'm tempted myself as I need a new one Quote:Unlike most audio sources you connect to a stereo (DVD/CD players, iPods, etc.), the output from the cartridge on a vintage turntable is MUCH lower. It requires additional amplification and some EQ to bring it up to a proper signal. This additional amplification is called a phono preamp. Phono preamps are built-in to older receivers and amps (see above). Some preamps are even built into some models of inexpensive (plastic) modern turntables (check the manual). In general, most newer stereo gear, including most mini-systems and home theatre units, don’t have phono inputs. To use a vintage turntable with newer stereo units (using the inputs marked Aux, Tape, Line, Video, CD, etc), or to play through a computer, or computer speakers, or headphones, the turntable signal must pass through an external phono preamp.

Burn The Witch is an awesome song, but it doesn't really fit on AMSP.
