To be brutally honest, I think all games will go ahead today should it not rain again. In the last 30-45 minutes, the rain around my area has stopped completely and the sun is now out. There's blue sky above me, and the road outside is half dried. Unless the referee gets to the ground and calls it off, i can see all games going ahead. They'll probably all end up being scrappy messy wet ground affairs though.

Blackmac79 wrote:Any of this weekends games canceled? was going to head down to Blacktown Vs United. Don't know as of yet. Sutherland v Bankstown should go ahead, as that's being played on Astro Turf. Unless the ground has actually 'flooded' it should go ahead. +1. with Mini - Lambert Park would resemble somthing of a mud field by now - with the amount of rain that's been dumped over Sydney in the last few days. You'd assume every ground in Sydney would - I'd be very suprised if there were many association games on this weekend too.

Riightio - One of the games that was cancelled due to the drips and drops across rooftops & crops back in round 4 (yes, i just did a Ch.10 Tim Bailey there!) - Rockdale v Marconi has been rescheduled: Wednesday, 4th May (This upcoming Wednesday), at Illinden Sports Centre @ 8:15pm kickoff - U20s will be played at 6:30pm. No news yet on the Bonnyrigg/Sydney United clash that was also washed out that week - I s'ppose it'll be played on the same night. But won't know untill those who control those forms of power let us know. And i daresay - with the weather we've had over the last 5 days, and continuing this morning and as i type this, there'll be at least one if not more re-scheduled games for this round i possibly think. Hi All Just to clarify the rules of the road as per a request from Football NSW. Please can we only provide the link to any stories. Nothing else. So for instance - if we want to discuss this week's preview. Just link this http://www.footballnsw.com/index.php?id=17&tx_ttnews[tt_news]=4982&tx_ttnews[backPid]=389&cHash=3fe584aa20 and then chat away! If we don't adhere to this I will have to delete the posts. Sorry. Cheers Andy Edited by Andy Jackson: 29/4/2011 04:04:32 PM

Hirofumi Moriyasu and Matthew Nash are the most recent former APIA players to have secured contracts with Sydney FC and the Newcastle Jets respectively.
APIA captain Franco Parisi believes the club has several stars in the waiting this season.
``We’ve proved in the last five seasons that one of our players has gone to the A-League.,’’ he said.
``We are the most successful club in producing A-League players and I think there is about eight boys that can make the step up given the professionalism, training every day and the competitive environment that comes with it.

``We feel as we can dominate any match and we need to prolong that domination from 40 or so minute through to the entire match,’’ he said.
``We need to eliminate those defensive lapses we have at times which I think every team in the world tires to do.’’
The club is also in the best position it has been in recent years after receiving a $2.2 million state government grant in March this year which is expected to go towards a synthetic pitch and new surroundings to name a few.
``The grant means exciting times ahead for the club,’’ Parisi said.

Definitely in NSW. I assume that SFC and APIA have agreements and almost a sister-club relationship, but i think it'd help APIA a lot, if they became like the offical feeder club for Sydney. Maybe their youth team/Acadamy. :-k without doubt blacktown are way ahead of apia in the players into the a-league......no question about it name them.... couldnt be fucked......apia have develpoed moriyasu, he just rocked up and started playing for them, so to suggest apia are developing players is laughable...... its like they say sydney olmpics developed smith...lol...pmsl....

Apparently they have to get Police escorts to school and back, and that their training sessions are held behind closed doors because otherwise the pitches will be swamped by their thousands of fans. It's incredible, yet never here anything about it...:-k

Hi All
When sharing articles from any external sites such as Football NSW please can you do the right thing and include the link back to their site and not cut and paste the whole article with no link.
I would request the same from them or any other site sharing our content.
If we can't adhere to this I'll have to start deleting the posts.
Hopefully we can.
Cheers

since we are treated in this section like the villawood refugees and all news must go in one thread here we go: pecial Feature: More young Blacktown talent coming through 27.04.11 09:04 Blacktown City FC's Adam Jenner Against Bankstown City, 18-year old Adam Jenner had a blistering first-half performance down the right flank showing plenty of pace, trickery and tremendous engines to get back up and down the pitch from his right back position. Jenner was always ready to help the attack, setting up one goal and unlucky with another effort that was well saved by the Lions ‘keeper in a display that wasn’t so much planned as much as the opportunity presented itself in this game and he made sure to exploit it at every opportunity. “Tonight I was given the opportunity more so than it being in the game plan but I always give 100% and that’s just the way it turned out on the pitch,” he modestly says. “I’ve recently just turned eighteen and started with Blacktown as a junior and have come through the system apart from last season which I spent at Sydney United and now I’m back at the club I started with so I am a Blacktown lad I suppose,” he states. The raw talent is there for all to see but under a collective of coach’s he is maturing rapidly into a very competent and dangerous overlapping fullback but as ever he has his sights set higher of course: “If an A-League club came knocking I would obviously be very interested but all you can do is concentrate on your game and see where it takes you but I would relish the chance in the next year or two to give that a go of course. “I would be happy to go to any A-League side if they were prepared to give a younger gut an opportunity and a run in the team so you get a chance to hopefully prove you can play at that level. “The same could be said if an overseas club were looking and that is something anyone would be silly not to consider but like I said I am only just 18-years old so hopefully I have plenty of time to fulfil those ambitions as now might not be the best time to go even if the opportunity came along.” The lad shows sense beyond his tender years and the Blacktown set-up has helped him, and others, without as much recognition as some clubs, the A-league Grand Final had four former Blacktown juniors on the field after all, so what is the secret to the prodigious production line? “We have different coaches who teach us different styles and aspects of football and all are well qualified and the main thing is that if we show promise they are prepared to give us a chance and that’s good for confidence and helps you to train harder to become better. “They have always show great belief in the young ones and given them a decent chance to prove themselves and we, hopefully, make the most of them.” With no real ‘honours’ to speak of on the international scene it is easy to see there is a burning ambition within the kid to put it right before the boots are hung up: “It has always been my dream to represent Australia since I was a little kid and that is definitely one of my main aims. “I can’t put into words how proud I would be to represent my country and it goes without saying I will do everything possible to achieve that goal.” There were one or two A-League coach’s in the crowd at this game so who knows who they were looking at but without doubt the first-half performance, especially, of Adam Jenner cannot have failed to impress so perhaps he could be jetting off for an A-League trial in the near future? Small steps at first but each one gets you nearer the destination and should Jenner continue to impress there is no reason he wouldn’t be gracing the nations TV screens sooner rather than later but full credit to the Blacktown youth set-up and the philosophy of the club in bringing on yet another lad and giving him his chance as credit must be given where it’s due. It goes to show why the NSW Premier League is considered the stand out competition below the A-League and should the clubs keep the production line of promising youths coming through it bodes well for the future, not only for the NSWPL but Australian football in general and as the weeks pass we’ll talk to more of the young talent coming through. -By Micky Brock http://www.nswpl.com.au/index.php?id=554&tx_ttnews[tt_news]=4986&tx_ttnews[backPid]=537&cHash=fac7aa2cdc Edited by Rigas: 27/4/2011 10:35:11 AM

Whats the point of having a whole section, its like you dont want state league to prospure and have news i dont get it -Match of the Round Highlights, NSWPL Round Reviews, etc, can go in this thread, that's what it's for. -Olympic articles you've already been warned about, make an Olympic dedicated thread. -Tiny articles about random players really don't need their own threads, they'll generate little to no discussion. Seperate threads that are actually big news, etc will be left open, but you haven't been posting any of that.

There's a NSWPL thread for NSWPL news. Makes the forums look messy with all these random threads popping up everywhere. That's my thought/opinion
