NSW Premier League side Rockdale City Suns will face a stern test when they tackle A-League outfit Sydney FC on the 30th of March at Ilinden Sports Centre with kick-off set for 7.30pm.

The Suns coached by Lee Sterrey will be out in full force as Rockdale commence their 2011 NSW Premier League season in late March.

For Sydney it’s a chance to continue it’s preparations for the Asian Champions League with their next AFC match at the Sydney Football Stadium on Wednesday 6 April against Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua (8pm kick-off).

Tickets for the friendly against Rockdale can be purchased at the gate with Adults $10, Concession $5 and Children under 16 years free.

“It is important we have a match before our game against Shanghai. We have had many intense training sessions including playing games between ourselves but the game against Rockdale will give us a good hit out,” Sydney FC coach Vitezslav Lavicka said.

“We have pretty much a full squad available so we can give everyone some time. That is an option but I expect I will play my full strength team for much of the game so we are ready for the Champions League game.”

we played the jets last year at seymour shaw but we now get to play sydney fc under lights at our hoem ground. awesome!

Hmmm tempted to go, i go to uni at Bankstown/Milperra so it's not that far, i think there's a bus from Bankstown that goes to Rockdale...

Rockdale won't host this game at Belmore and Jensen for obvious reasons. Not sure about Melita though.

Bankstown Lions have hosted Sydney FC at Jensen Oval in the past. Finished 2-2 from memory.

It'd be handy if they held it on the Oval at Uni behind the gym. Real handy, walk outta my lecture and right into the game :lol:

no i'm not talking about Rockdale playing at Jensen or whatever, but Sydney playing Olympic, or Bankstown City... if they were to play at Belmore it'd be near perfect for me, can catch the train from uni to belmore get out get a drink in somewhere then go to the game then catch the train home on the same line \:d/ ... Jensen is literally a five minute walk from my place, only problem with Jensen is the closest place you can go for pre-game or post-game drinks is a strip joint :lol:

Dunno if i'll go to this. I got Uni at Bankstown during the day, so it's not too far, i think there's Busses running to Rockdale-ish area from Bankstown, but it's getting home thats a bitch as i don't drive.
