Hopefully his confidence is up after the 5 goals, i can see him getting a few headers, plus with service of Broich and others, guaranteed to get a few, just how many? is the question. Reminds me i need to setup my Fanatasy A-League team :d.

So wanting to get a membership for 2 adults and 1 kid on the western side to keep out of the sun. If the niece isn't able to make it to a game can I get another adult to use the ticket? Would there be a extra amount that the person would have to pay or just use the kids ticket and hope no one notices?
Coming from Toowoomba so will be a couple she won't make it too (6 years old and school and stuff)

Around 20-40 for GA ticket nowadays?

I honestly believe this could be game of the round in terms of viewing. Really hope it will be 20+ . Hope Adelaide play really well and it's a high scoring entertaining match. Then their crowd could be anything for round 2 at Adelaide oval.... And it wouldn't harm roars future crowds either.

United have looked good pre season, so i wouldn't be surprised if we lost against them. Never have got good crowds with Adelaide, no real rivalry etc, good thing its the first game.

Can anyone elbaroate on the 'team meeting' last week? I've heard the term 'crisis' used for the player group meeting, i'm guessing it was the rest of the team saying to Mike Mulvey 'wtf did you buy bowles for gaff?'

If Taggart is being loaned back to an A-League club, we could do with a back up plan. Solorzano doesn't inspire me and so Kurtishi has it all to himself at the moment. Henrique is logically only a subs proposition at this stage of his career.
How did we sign Solorzano to 2 years??????

Are you sure it wasn't the womens team in a crisis meeting? Quote:BRISBANE coach Mike Mulvey is convinced the Roar remain on track to successfully defend their A-League crown after two urgent player meetings in successive days to address the club’s ordinary pre-season form.
The Roar yesterday launched their A-League season at Perry Park with a promise to fix the wrongs of recent weeks.
In that time they have twice lost to A-League opposition and were particularly disappointing in going down 2-0 to Adelaide United in last Tuesday’s FFA Cup round-of-16 clash at Coopers Stadium.
It led to what Mulvey described as a “brutally honest” meeting with his players and coaching staff on Friday, and another gathering yesterday morning with leadership group members Matt Smith, Thomas Broich, Jade North, Shane Stefanutto, Matt McKay and James Donachie.
“It’s not me dictating, it’s an open and honest environment where we can all speak,” Mulvey said.
“I told everybody that we needed to look in the mirror and the first person that needs to look in the mirror is me, so I’ve done that. I’ve addressed some of my own issues with regards to how we are preparing.
“We haven’t performed at our best in the pre-season … (but) it’s not a worry. It’s only a worry if we let it become a worry.
“We’ve tried some new things. Some have worked, some haven’t worked.

Mulvey has been pleased with the response at training after Tuesday’s loss and is convinced it will lead to a good performance when the Roar start their A-League campaign on Sunday week against Adelaide at Suncorp Stadium.
“We’ve had two fantastic sessions since (Tuesday) and we’ll have 10 fantastic sessions before the season starts,” he said.
“We have to work hard every single day, we have to be totally united. If we’re not totally united, we can’t achieve anything.
“We’ll go out every game to be extremely competitive against any opponent that we play against. We might not always win. We want to and we will try to, but the thing we will do is we will always fight to the death.”
Veteran defender North was adamant that the Roar’s hunger remained after their premiership-championship double last season and hinted that Tuesday’s loss was perhaps a required wake-up call.
“Being the champions, everybody wants to knock you off, but we’ve got to counter that,” North said.
“The boys have been firing the past couple of days at training. It’s good to see we’re getting that spirit back.”
The Roar meet NPL Queensland side Olympic FC on Wednesday night at Goodwin Park in their final trial before the start of the A-League season. http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/football/brisbane-roar-coach-mike-mulvey-says-club-has-addressed-preseason-issues-ahead-of-aleague-kickoff/story-fnii0fc4-1227072681507?nk=31f6b5e5a1d5f5dd7b34067b709edce7

How did we sign Solorzano to 2 years?????? We don't see him day-in day-out mout training, I'll admit his form at the two games I saw at Ballymore wasn't awe inspirng but his wife is from Brisbane I hear so you'd think we got him for a pretty cheap amount. Henrique on the other hand has looked like he's improved, his last few pre-seasons have been injury interrupted but this time he's looking fit and very, very sharp. I think if Broich continues being Broich, with Mckay, Sarota, Lustica, Brattan and Miller supporting that the likes of Dimi, Henrique, Kurtishi and Solo will all be given ample oppurtunity to put the ball in the back of the net.

How did we sign Solorzano to 2 years?????? Solorzano is on a very small wage. great value signing. We already have Kuritisi, Henrique, Solorzano, Borello and Danning who can play up front, that's the position of least concern at the moment. The real concern is getting good quality fullbacks.

Yep, we've banged on about it already but throwing Donks and Sarota's names in as 'handy at RB if needed' is not good enough imo, we're the most sucessful club over the last 6 or 7 years and shouldn't be relying on stop-gap measures. Stef is not getting any younger, quicker or better at crossing and Franjic was a WC Socceroo. There needs to be better succession planning I feel.

I personally think we have the best succession plan in the A-league. What other team has players like Luke Brattan and James Donachie, Brown ect who have been given long contracts to develop and work up into the starting 11 team. You can tell where players will be playing and the club seems to have it all organised. I can't say the same for a lot of other clubs.

Brattan is great and Donachie will be, Brown I'm still unsure of and a few of the other signings have been stop-gap reaction signings I feel. We'll see how Kurtishi goes but there is a feeling that if he doesn't bang them in and we get a few injuries at the back thqat things could spiral out of control very quickly this season. Look at our back 5, Smith 31, Theo 33, Steff 34, North 32 and Hingert at 24 who is solid but doesn't exactly set the world on fire. The likes of BRown, Hingert and Bowles will have to step up this season or we're in a bit of trouble going forward i reckon. I'm not all doom and gloom, just looking at things realistically, I hope we go out there and belt everyone again don't get me wrong!

First post on here in weeks so I'm not sure if it's been mentioned but where was Sarota yesterday?
I was pissed to see Miller starting instead.

In a resort somewhere

Apart from his 'toe poke' effort - Miller was completely MIA yesterday... Looking forward to seeing Sarota or Lamba starting in his place.

According to Mulvey's press conference Sarota was injured at Training on Saturday. Lambaridis will be out of action for a while again. .
