Yeah thats ridiculous and the franchise owners really need t stand up united and send a big FU to the FFA.

What business is it the FFA's who a team plays in pre-season? I don't see them cracking down on pre-season practice matches against State League clubs.

If clubs can make a few bucks out of it, why shouldn't they get to keep it?

Very dominant display, second half especially when Poljak came on. Completely bossed the midfield. Started with a back four of Cole, Topor, La Rocca and Pasalic who were all solid, same with Mullen, Hamill, Golec and Aspor when they came on. Have to say I was impressed with Cole at RB wouldn't be unhappy if he started there this season and its Cole who set up Topor for the goal 3 mins in off a header at the near post.

Thought Tricky and Lo held possession well in the midfield with Perkatis in there with them who was solid but couldn't really get into the game. Kubi looked really out of sorts on the right, couple of times he got past his man but completely fucked up the cross. Labi was his hardworking self on the left and should have scored once he moved into the middle in the 2nd half had he not slipped over just as he was taking the shot.

Saba came on at HT and man does he look like class whenever he touches the ball. Couple of good passes that would have been great if they weren't a fraction overhit. Also has a turn of pace I really wasn't expecting and stronger on the ball than I thought he would be.

Can't really compare this performance because I didn't see the Macarthur or Canberra matches but for the most part did like what I saw tonight.

Much appreciated gospodine. Found Macarthur, Canberra performances underwhelming, so relatively pleased.

Any pressing issues? Thought Pasalic was dreadful at LB at Macarthur. Improvement?

I didn't think he was great, didn't have much to deal with though. Can't see him being an option there, especially not using up a visa spot, but who knows with Popa

Our biggest issue was going forward. Didn't create enough chances. Changed in the 2nd half with Saba. Although that's not a huge surprise with none of our first choice front 3 playing at all and our first choice AM only playing the 2nd half.

from what i saw we played much better last night than what we did against mcaruthur and canberra. we were more solid around the entire pitch. with mcarthur and canberra, they did worry and create chances against us. last night i think apia (the team) only created one decent chance.
much more dangerous in the second half. like sydcro said, saba looks the goods. also number 22 (cant spell his name) again impressed. he seems raw but has potential (like kubi).
from the 3 pre season games i would say we wont be pushing for the title this season. probably fighting for top 6 but things can change

Hmmmm interesting signing if this comes about, strange we would "waste" our final visa spot on a guy like this. He may have been a Lazio player, but he's never played for them at a senior level, although did play a season for youth and has spent the past few years on loan. The clubs he's been loaned out to were a Serie D, C2 and a Swiss second division club, respectively. Also it doesn't look like he's ever represented Nigeria at any level. I wonder if this was a La Rocca recommendation. His stats certainly aren't flattering, but he is only 22, so could be a diamond in the rough.

I don think we bought him though as the tweet suggests, he was off contract, so surely we got him for nothing. Trust in Popa as always, i would have liked a more proven player as our last visa spot though.

Looks pretty confirmed i gotta say.

An article and the official lazio link:

UPDATE 08.19 - E 'came the official, Seyi Adeleke is a new player in the Western Sydney Wanderers. Lazio - as announced on their official website - sold outright to the Nigerian midfielder Australian club, thus releasing a box extracomunitario to possibly registering any new players since the transfer market session in progress. ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————- The trick to release the box immigrant has a name and a last name: Seyi Adeleke. would not be the first time for the Nigerian midfielder, who last year already, with his transfer on loan at Bienne, has allowed the membership of the Colombian Perea. His contract with the club biancoceleste would have expired in the summer, but has been renovated and will now be sold abroad again. According to the law, in fact, if he were released he would not freed from the box outside the Community, only one of two signings of players outside of the EU can be unlocked in this way and Lazio have already taken advantage of this possibility tesserando Djordjevic instead of Dias, whose contract expired at June 30, 2014 In fact, the practices and very broad interpretation of the standard often have allowed both places were set free in this way, but with the renewal of Adeleke and his immediate transfer abroad the problem would not arise either. Once sold, the club will be free to buy another non-EU player who both Stankovic or another defender. There's no hurry. Lazio wants to sell the first one among Onazi and Gonzalez in the midfield, and one of the most Cavanda Ciani and Novaretti in defense. Sul central former club Bordeaux there are English, French and Russian . For the Argentine - that Pioli would like to keep in organic - strong interest in Leon: the coach of Mexican club has asked the company to close the transaction by the weekend. Bulgaria: Lazio took the striker Despodov, class '96; will arrive in January. Destination Dubai as Wanderers Prepare for ACL Semis

The team line-up against Evergrande
The Wanderers are on their way to DubaiSaturday, 30 August 2014 - @wswanderersfc Comments
The NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers will depart for Dubai tomorrow for a 10-day training camp to prepare for their upcoming AFC Champions League (ACL) Semi-Finals and the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 Season.
Following the team’s heroics in the ACL Quarter Finals against Guangzhou Evergrande, the Wanderers are set to undergo an intensive schedule at the NAD Al Sheba Sports Complex in Dubai, the private facility of the His Highness Sheikh Hamdan, Crown Prince of Dubai.

The facility is an invitation only training facility used by the likes of Manchester United and has been in operation for the past 12 months and is set to host a number of this season’s UEFA Champions League and notable international teams in the coming year.

The training camp will also include the Club’s entry into the International Petroleum Investments Company Championship (IPIC) in Abu Dhabi against East Riffa Club and Al Jazira FC.

With a 40 match season ahead which includes the Club’s upcoming ACL Semi-Final matches scheduled for 17 September and 1 October against FC Seoul, planning has been long underway to ensure the team is in peak physical and mental condition to compete across all competitions.

Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas believes this opportunity not only offers the Club exposure to new conditions but also to one of the best training centres in world football.

“This is a world class facility conducive to the preparation we need for the coming season,” said Tsatsimas.

“This season we are competing on a number of fronts and the opportunity to train at the NAD Al Sheba Sports Complex offers us conditions we have not yet experienced in a high performance environment used by some of the biggest teams in world football.

“Our pre-season tour to China and Japan last season was an experience that offered us both an understanding of the conditions we would face in this year’s ACL and the mentality to deal with the testing travel and playing conditions we would face in Asia. We need to acclimate to all the conditions that we may be required to play in whether that be during the hot summer months of the A-League or the Champions League.”

This is the first time an Australian team has been invited to use this facility and compete in this tournament.
